Except that the damage is slightly lower than that of ordinary semi-automatic rifles, all other attributes are top-notch. If STG44 also has such attributes in the future, then the Germans are invincible.

i disagree. calling it the best semi auto ingame…
vg1-5 same rate of fire, magasiin , reload time. and argubly better sights. more damage per bullet (still same hits to kill) making that gold gun just a reskin of vg1-5 avaiable for troopers.
zh-29 on moscow campaign its overall better (excluding the magasin size)
g41 in normandy campaign is overall stronger imo most times 1 hit kill… worst reload time tho.(2 more seconds) but that 1 hit kill possibility is a must imo
if you consider fg42 as semi auto only…its a strong candidate for best semi weapon right now.
Idk man, i get one of those and i find it better from both the normal gewehr and the FG-42. Huge ammo capacity, keep clicking by having the 3-bursts one is like full auto with small recoil. If the VG 1-5 doesnt have 3-bursts option the Gewehr 43 with the 30 mag is better

Would trully be happy if vg1-5 was a troopers weapon too. But Its understandable that isn’t.
Sounds like someone has been getting way too upset about being killed by the MG34. He thinks nothing should be able to kill him while that that PPD, or PPSH is in his hands.

yeah the vg 1-5 should be a trooper weapon and imo it isnt understandable why it isnt. Like USSR have amazing SMGs which is the strongest weapon type in Berlin, i am pretty sure giving the VG 1-5 to troopers wouldnt made such a difference
Ditto on G 1-5. I hate the fucking iron sights on the G43.

It’s understandable to the point that every trooper squad would man a Vg1.5… Making it a low recoil fg42 problem.
It’s understandable to the balance of avaiable weapons per time in a battle.
There will be always more troopers than assaulters with ppds in a battle.
Idk i thing people are reeeeing about the FG42 cause of its full auto. Otherwise if it was just a semi auto rifle it would be much better than the Gewehr. So since the VG 1-5 doesnt have auto mode it doesnt create any issue. the only + is the 30 mag

Indeed. As far as I remember reading about vg program, vg1-5 was only semi auto. There is a idea that some were made full auto, but I don’t recall reading about it or seeing a auto version. There is a known myth that very few were built because the auto version wasn’t accepted
We can also agree, that fg42 isn’t that much common to apear in-game.
Donno if the reciving end shares the same input coz I only play German side and I don’t notice it as much on the kill feed.

I played USA after i finished Germany in Normandy. Went until lvl 10-11/ I didnt notice any issue with the FG-42. Like there were a few people using them but it wasnt a game changer or something.

nah bro it totally ruined it. This guy spawned in with a full squad of FG42s and it spawned mecha-hitler and everyone instantly died and it bricked my hard drive. so glad it got nerfed.

The problem with the FG42 is that is too readily available. Make that a gunner, and bomber only weapon, and have the G 1-5 as an infantry option. Problem solved. The G 1-5 should also have a slightly steeper damage drop off, because of the semi auto option. This makes sense also, because that weapon has a short barrel, and that’s actually a thing.
Im pretty you are right about the G1-5 being semi auto only. That’s what my understanding was anyways.
I had and still have a squad full of fg42s.
It’s a good non premium alternative in Normandy.
But after some time I did stick to premium squads for the ready to go with great guns and with extra xp bonus in the end of the match. Making leveling on the campaign a easy task.
Fg 42 is good, but isn’t as good as a g41 in semi, or a polish bar in full auto.

The FG42 is probably better than the G41 Kurz in close quarters / room clearing duty, but outside of that use case the G41 Kurz is just more accurate and easier to use. You’re also less likely to run out of ammo with that G41 Kurz.
That said, the FG42 is better than the AVS-36 by a large degree, and even better still than the rest of the semi-autos, be it Gewehr, Garand, SVT-40, M1 / M2 carbine, etc.
