i think it would make sense to see weapons such as the volksturm at the end / mid.
i can see both valid arguments for both.
one, for realism and HA. on the other hand, as previously said, allow players of mid brs to also get matched in berlin because of the weapons it’s not a bad thing either. and have more pool of maps to play instead of being forced to always play the same.
you can actually make this work by selecting map after you match 20 players. you match 20 players, check their weapons and then make map depending on their weapons.
Then the entire BR system would be irrelevant and should simply not be implemented at all. Because we could also see stuff like fedov at br 1, to play early maps.
Br, is really just the same system as war thunder. If everything had exceptions ignoring the core mechanics like you and op propose, then we’d quickly see meta factions…
And the entire point of creating a mm for supposedly “fair” matchs, would become non existent.
blocking teams/weapons in a particular set of maps is not only retarded but also stupid on a game level (restrictions are rarely a good thing), just accept that this game has never been and will never be historically accurate and that it is a run n gun arcade shooter (really its just cod with more steps).
In fact, this “update” of the “meta” is the perfect chance to revise the Fedorov – a WW1 semi-/full-auto design for Arisaka cartridge should be at the ~SVT level with low full auto accuracy.
And of course only as gold order/early war Moscow weapon (in fact I have not seen any evidence of its use past Winter War).

It’s impossible. Because just like axis mains, Soviet mains are just as whinny and petty. They would cry without end if the weapon gets nerfed to realistic stats… And devs tend to listen to them.
Its somewhat understoodable as 99% of time you shoot bots, kinda fits to progression more levels u get more efficient tools you get to do your slaughtering.
Instead of nerfing things they should buff the counter parts OR add what ever never used prototype to compete with it.
Imagine if ppsh was nerfed to have recoil comparable to ak47 in cs, who the fk would bother to learn the spray patterns just to kill bots 99% of time
it better be the one of possible modifications of Kar98 (i hope they make weapon mods (stocks/magazines, different calibers, etc) on the weapons it has)
Tbh I hope it doesn’t work. The whole “x weapon must be in Moscow/Berlin” is dumb. The only thing I care about is no mix teams (e.g., USSR/US/GER/JPN all on same team vs similar comp - leave that for customs). I want to use all of my gear on all the applicable maps, if that means a Tiger II vs IS-2 in Moscow, awesome. Maybe some of those turretless TDs will have a purpose on some of the flat open Moscow/Tunisia maps. The weapons in Moscow, Stalingrad, and Berlin are basically the same at this point other than the FG.
Ew. What can be worse than destroying an iconic city like Stalingrad recreated for the first time in this scale with some awful abominations like RPD vs MP-3008 and Tiger 2 vs IS-2.

Because it is a game and historical accuracy went out the window a long time ago. Idgaf about Stalingrad/Berlin. They are both generic city maps where I get to use cool guns. Simple as. If I happen to recognize something historical, it’s neat and then I move on. After playing any of the maps more than once, idgaf about the map details other than how they impact gameplay.
