Look at the recent history of events: Failed Steam release, Veteran boxes that paid off nothing but crap, the Halloween event that you had to pay for in order to receive all squads, now changes to the Battle Pass system that completely takes away choice and increases fear of missing out (FOMO) events. These psychopaths are cutting their own throats and don’t even realize that they’re the ones holding the knife!
Why do I use the term psychopath? Because no matter how many good things that psychopaths provide in a relationship (such as the Tech Tree & lower silver prices to make in-game purchases), you always know there’s A LOT MORE BAD TO COME: Failed Steam release, Veteran boxes, Halloween event, and new Battle Pass system. Nothing but trickery & manipulation—the two things that psychopaths always bring into a relationship.
There is something you can do about it: Never ever play another free game. I’ve played 2 free games in my entire life: Heroes and Generals and Enlisted, and the only reason I played Enlisted was because a friend of mine wanted me to play it with him.
Free games aren’t free—far from it. In fact, in the long run, they cost much more money than a game you actually pay for. Why? They are purposely programmed and/or designed to not function properly. If you want them to function properly, you have to spend money over and over and over again. Even then, they still don’t function as a properly programmed game should—especially since the developers are motivated to continually add more bad programming/design in order to make more money. It’s a never-ending cycle.
So, for me, the solution is simple: Never ever play another free game. After this one, it won’t be hard to follow through.
Humans are also naturally opposed to the loss of free will. Removing of GO is a terrible thing because F2p are not allowed to pick multiple times the weapon they actually want. Plus, no more GO on event which will certainly be replaced by underwhelming reward as usual…
Yeah, it’s not like I already provided several reasons why I think the new BP sucks.
So let’s recap.
1.The new BP will take away our Golden Orders, which will lead to several consequences:
A) if I can’t play for any reason for a month, I will retroactively lose the ability to get a BP weapon for that period.
And I’ll just be relying on being lucky to get that gun from a loot box or some event. Which will never be guaranteed.
Which leads to one thing. And that is more prominent FOMO factor, which causes unnecessary stress if you’re a collector like me.
B) F2P players will no longer be able to get multiple pieces of one BP weapon, that option will be permanently locked behind a paywall. (Unless they’re lucky with loot box or event)
C) This inability to choose the weapons we want is going to lead to yet more consequences.
New players won’t be able to choose low BR weapons like they could before. What will the new player do with the BR5 ppsh45?
F2P players who don’t play all factions because they don’t have the time or resources to do so will be receiving stuff from battlepass for factions they don’t play at all.
2.Up until now, we have been getting generally one weapon for each faction within a single BP that lasted 90 days.
Which means 4x4 (16 weapons per 90 days). Of course there was occasionally an exception.
With the new battlepass, every 30 days we will only get one weapon for one faction, which in effect means that in period of 90 days we will only get weapons for three factions instead of all four.
I think that’s enough to get us started. But if you want, I can continue.
Are you still determined to convince me that this change is positive for me and the other players? Because I really don’t think so.
But I guess I just don’t like changes.
He’s not talking about free will. What he meant to say was, “freedom of choice.”
Also, you’re correct, people don’t like change—but mostly when the change is to their detriment. When the change is better for them, most won’t disagree—unless they don’t understand how it positively affects them.
For example, what working stiff has ever declined a raise in pay? Or, additional vacation time? Those are changes that most would happily accept.
In addition, how many of us would have declined additional GO weapons for each battlepass? Or, more gold or silver? I don’t think anyone.
There are many losses with this new battlepass design, and these losses are not hard to understand—I don’t need to try it first to experience the loss. It’s well understood. If people were told that they could only eat one meal a day consisting of 500 calories or less, do they need to experience that to understand the loss? I don’t think so!
By removing the GO, as a person who does not pay the battle pass, I am forced to only have one weapon of each season. Except I don’t want to have most of them. I want instead to be able to spend four GO I collected through event and BP to get several copy of the weapons I really want.
By removing the GO, DF is removing my ability to invest on one weapon specifically and instead forces me of getting one copy of weapon I don’t want in the first place.
What is it with all this “final solution” now? ok fine then maybe i will make a “final solution” to research to silver conversion rate when i feel like it
maybe there should also be a “final solution” to br rating and whatnot too
Yeah - the ability to save gold orders in order to spend them on a specific weapon to get multiple at once was without a doubt the better system - that way the devs can add tons of prototype weapons without them being overused because people will only choose those they like.
I agree that the battle pass format is kinda old and deserves a rework - but taking weapon gold orders away is a mistake.
Non choosable unlocks should be reserved for event rewards, so people can choose if they want to grind through a event - which for me was always worth it because you get that sweet gold order in the end, but now I will skip more events.
