The most important problem in this game is the map. The map itself is not a map for the game.
In this game spends all our time making maps that look great, not maps for the game.
This is a game, not a drawing tool.
Do you want to retain users in this game? I have some advice for you right now. Delete the D-Day of the Normandy campaign. Actually, I don’t want to fix one or two things on the map. But that’s the advice you can give right now.
Currently, there is a gray area in this game. it is needed here This is to prevent the scope of the game from becoming too large for the number of people.
It also makes it impossible to spawn kill and prevents one side from being pushed to the spawn point unilaterally.
However, the gray area is becoming a safe zone for tanks and snipers where the current system is protected.
They are protected from artillery fire and anti-tank soldiers by the system, and can safely score high scores.
Why should the system protect them? this is very unfair
Therefore, the following reform proposal is proposed.
Regroup the gray zone.
Owners of gray areas do not suffer any damage in them (including environmental damage).
No weapons can be used in the gray zone. Also, you can’t do any attack.(including AA or Gramde)
In this way, only the public interest and beneficial parts of the gray area can be preserved.
Objects that are basically laid on the map are not destroyed. Includes barbed wire and tank traps.
However, they slow down the user and obstruct the tank’s path. It is a tactical matter and not just a decoration.
They should also be able to be destroyed manually. Why is Destruction Impossible?
No, you cannot see your own gray zones, it’d be bullshit if I saw two bots trying to shoot each other but couldn’t.
Plus people would just pop out to attack then retreat to reload. Plus bombers would be shit, both the AI and play controlled. There’s so many reason why 2 and 3 is so wrong!
This overhaul is based on reducing the gray area. If they’re close enough to shoot each other, it’s a bad positioning. Or it’s pushed so far that it needs system protection.
They are not protected from AT guns, or other form of AT weapons in the game. Artillery can not penetrate tank armor. The way gray zone is implemented is to prevent people spawn camping. Spawn protection expires a few seconds after they are spawned.
Must be a Normandy Allies player to complain about the D-Day map with the Tiger on the hill thing. Heard Allies in Normandy used to dominate with the Jumbo + CAS spam before high level stuff like Panther and MP43 get added. As time goes on Germany gets more and more great stuff like Tiger and STG-44 to the point that more players play Germany in Normandy.
US lost player because after lv29 (first thompson) they dont get nothing better that what they have
Bazooka? A worse piat
Another 20 thompson variant? No thanks i upgrade the m1a1 and call it a day
Usless tank destroyer? Jumbo is better
A p51? P38 still better 4mg and 1 cannon + 6 rocket
Ecc…
German on other side keep have good equipment every time
Panther
Mp43
Fw
Tiger
Stg44
Ecc…
So is normal player go playng mostly for axis, american level after the 29 are pure sidegrade and filler
the only direct upgrade for the allies would be 1919a6 (if you don’t mind the slower RPM and slower run speed compared to the barA2) and the m9 bazooka though m9 still lacks the penetration to deal with the panther and tiger 1 frontally while the panzerschreck can do damage while facing the jumbo’s front
I actually have to say that D-Day is one of the best maps actually. My only major complaints are:
there is no way to destroy the barbwire littering the beach except with a tank. TNT at the very least should clean this up.
There is no good way to close off the bunkers from being used. The addition of cave-ins would be appreciated.
Artillery from ships and large land based cannons needs to be implemented. They would make a VERY large difference. (If I remember correctly, an American battleship flooded half its ship to get enough tilt to provide artillery support during D-Day. Yet we have nothing close to this as far as bombardment.)
Your arguments are reasonable, but implementing them would require major changes to the physics engine. Replacing the map makes more sense and is easier than replacing the game engine.
