I agree that imbalanced teams are also a problem, but this post is about maps. Please open a new post.
Also, Artillery canât destroy a tank in one shot, but it does a lot of damage to it. A broken tank is very easy to catch.
He is referring to the AT (anti-tank) guns, otherwise knows as field guns. They absolutely CAN destroy a tank in one shot, if the aim is good.
Artillery from a radio operator I think is what you are thinking of. Which normally canât destroy MOST tanks. HOWEVER: if it is an open topped tank, and one of the artillery shells lands directly through the top, it will destroy it. The open top tanks are like the M8 Scott for example.
No need for a physics engine change. Just some parts of the map to be changed a little bit. The barbwire is a simple change. The Large artillery would just be changes to models/animations and the addition of large rounds landing in an area.
The cave in might not be as doable, and thats fine. However, even that would be Stage1, Stage2, and throw a smoke cloud inbetween.
Large shells themselves are not in the game. A new system must be added. Bunker depressions are also not in the game. We also need to add a new system.
As a side note, if youâre not riding an open top tank (like the M8 Scott), artillery wonât kill you in one hit. However, artillery inflicts many status ailments on tanks. Tracks may break, turret rings may be damaged, and some of the crew may die. Such damage can destroy a tank very easily.
I donât want to sound like a snob but TNT pack is not the biggest destroyer of tanks, maybe the biggest in terms of its availability during the match. Bombs and rockets are easier to use when you want to destroy tanks.
The earliest fighter in the Allied Normandy is unlocked at level 4. Itâs the P-38G-1 with 6x M8 rockets. The rockets are mounted under the fuselage so you donât have to offset your aim laterally. A direct hit on anywhere of the hull or the turret will detonate the tank. As I said spawn aircraft to destroy the tank camping in the gray zone.
Here I hit an angled Tiger E with the M8 rockets
Without small maps, I would actually use fast(er) tanks. Heavy tanks wouldnât be that easy to use because people could flank them.
Spawncamping would occur less because people donât spawn 200m away from each other.
Games would be a bit longer because cps are not 100m away from your spawn and heavy tanks would be easier to kill.
Bombers would be able to wipe out half teams because people are less crowded into obvious chokepoints.
Sniping would actually exists as 100m is not sniping.
Rifles would be better because battle area isnât so painfully small (e.g. SG).
Hell, even glorious APC simpers of APC goddess Erika could finally have a point with APCs.
Well⌠some issues could be solved.
Good like trying to kill Tigers with the Normandy cannon and T-34s in Moscow with the PaK.
And most tanks are in grey zone.
Most people donât use them anyway so no big deal.
we could also actually get rid of dispersion since we wouldnât need it on larger maps though we should also get the ability to change our zeroing if we get large maps
I use the field guns a lot in every campaign I play. That said, sometimes its not about killing the tank outright. Tigers on Normandy for example: you are correct its hard to get that killshot. However, there are other options available. Delivering a couple shots against its barrel will fry it and make it a rolling riot shield. Taking out the tracks is a great way to force the tankers out to make repairs, which if you have HE loaded an pick your shots, you can kill off the crew. My point is there is more than one way to deal with tanks.
While greyzone tanks do happen, I wouldnât say âmostâ are there. On console (which I play as xbox) they are only there about 40% of the time. So definitely NOT the majority.
Again, console may surprise you. Just because you donât see them that much, doesnât mean people donât use them. The Scott for example is still used a fair bit on console, due to its decent maneuverability and amazing firepower against infantry.
If the Tiger is that retarded, he deserved it.
Counting on your enemy being dumbasses is not really good.
Doesnt matter in greyzones.
Yepp. The rest camps close to them and the rest is pointless because they mostly die to TNT.
Dont care about consoles. Crossplay exists so I have enough fun with console and PC players together and both camp if they are not one of those dumbasses who try to attack cps with an heavy tank.
