Tommy is going like a storm,

now available:

  • mobile rallies,
  • new structures and buildable vechicles
  • new gameplay solutions such as planting a bomb on a tank instead of a stupid radio station

the only issue i’ve got for this mod is

  1. its ridiculously long game time, everytime i play it feels like stalemate, approx. 1h of gameplay would be definitely enough. (justgameplayguy did 2h yt video)
  2. HUD illegibility, i find myself not knowing what should i do, so many icons on screen, wall of text etc.

I hope it will develop in the right direction, i’m impressed and rooting for Tommy

I love that engineers can build more bunkers and vehicles
It makes the engineers more tactically valuable instead of being thrown aside after building the spawn point.

In addition, I have similar opinions. One game is a bit too long. It plays more like Red Orchestra’s mass action mode, but it is not divided but integrated.
The advantage is that it has a more battlefield atmosphere, and the advancement or defeat of a war is more three-dimensional. The disadvantage is that it may be very tiring to play.

This is my go to game now, when not forced to play events and grind xp. Although the games are long, the sheer scale of the map is perfect, if you earnt XP, you could leave and get proportion before full match ends (I don’t want fast paced games leave that for base game).

The scale makes this mod work, tanks and binoculars serve a true purpose(firing at 400m flanking heavy tanks), multiple planes and vehicles, the number of troops attacking a position really make you feel like you are in a battlefront.

This is exactly what I wanted Enlisted to be, engineers building jeeps to get around, but also building howitzers, Tank destroyers actually serving a purpose.

I do hope the devs add this to base game or at very least earn capped XP, so people don’t lose out playing and not grinding…

I always launch it first thing in morning, I can’t myself but get one of my clan to, when not entertaining or working… but 95% of time it’s on 7am GMT latest version.

Would have to see @1942786 and @James_Grove will think as it’s becoming increasingly popular and hopefully they recognize that base game and or merge isn’t what we want, despite playing since CBTs

The scale and way it reuses old assets is absolutely the reason for its success!

Keofox and James, hello at the very least please consider a base 5k cap per hour, allow people to play Enlisted how they want to, full scale is more fun, see it for yourselves.

Yeah, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t introduced something similar. Afterall, it’s very similar concept to historical battles in WT.

I agree, except for the game duration. It feels awesome like Hell Let Loose, so i think 90 minutes would be fitting perfectly :slight_smile:

Is it usually launched with proper historical factions or clownfest like most custom gamea are (i.e. US soldiers vs Russians in Tunisia, and so on)?

90 minutes would be fine by me, but nothing more, there should be 90 min timer in which if attackers haven’t succeed by - they lose.

idk, 2h+ battles are quite too much, and not solely because of the duration, it’s more about the pace itself, the longer the game the slower cap time, i’ve played this mod multiple times and I have seen cap being taken once, it’s that rare to witness.

all I mean is to not artificially stretch battle duration.

90m is reasonable compromise, as for never see cap transfer, hmm only if hard fights going on, not sure I agree, if joining our Europe Big Action, latest version there are some amazing, extended fights, I like to play underdog, one thing I like is people fixed to army squad composition once match starts…

Try it for yourself please, it depends, but on the whole most play Normandy, Moscow and Berlin, rare to see Tunisian troops honestly, even more rare for pacific…

currently about 130 mins max time for defender.

The reason for setting a longer time is that custom rooms often have to go through a long warmup period waiting for other players to enter.

During the warm-up you’re basically just doing PvE combat. In order to solve this case, this 2 hours includes this potential warm-up time.

This 2-hour time has been shortened, it was 5 hours in older previous version, and the battle scope includes the entire map (it was originally designed as a marathon battle, with different players completing the battle in relays).

Because this is a 25vs25 battle, in previous versions it was often necessary to wait for an hour before being discovered by other players.

I think as the number of players increases, this time can be shortened to less than 120 minutes.
