I hope they learn not to get in front of you obstruding the line of sight, especially when LMG is deployed.
Any improvement of the AI is a step in the right direction if implemented properly.
For me the AI performance is THE most important issue in Enlisted. If the AI improves then Enlisted will remain interesting to play. If not then no amount of new squads, vehicles, aircraft will motivate me to keep me playing Enlisted in the long run.
I have already expanded on what I would like to see in Enlisted regarding the AI in this topic:
If the developers would implement for all game modes what I presented in that topic it would make Enlisted a game like no other.
One of the currently still most relaxing and fun to play match types in Enlisted is versus the AI in Custom Matches.
The biggest advantage of these type of matches is that you do are not confronted with the vast amount of human players that use cheats of various types (wall hack, aimbot etc.).
I have noticed that in these sort of custom matches versus the AI that the AI Squads currently:
1.) Deploy several Rally points very close to the objective, often times up till three near each other. This allows the AI to conduct russian style âhuman waveâ attacks, which are entertaining to counter. They have been doing this since a few months or so.
2.) Deploy ammunition crates on the objective BUT sadly ONLY the defending AI squads do that. So as a defender the AI currently will constantly deploy ammunition crates that both the AI controlled and human player controlled squads use. NOTE: It would be a great improvement if ALL AI controlled squads in custom matches versus the AI would in the future always deploy ammunition crates next to their rally points.
3.) Throw hand grenades at human player controlled vehicles (fragmentation grenades, incendiary grenades and dynamite bundles).
4.) Call in off-map artillery, usually this is either near the objective on routes followed by the enemy AI squads OR directly on the position of the human player.
5.) Fire projectile launcher type weapons on human player controlled vehicles. THIS IS NEW. I have only noticed enemy AI squads doing this since about a week or so. Usually the AI using a projectile launcher type weapon hits with the first shot, whereafter he does not use it again.
Interestingly the AI squads DO NOT not perform the actions listed under point 1.) 2.) 4.) and 5.) above in regular matches with human players. Fully AI controlled squads do seem to perform action 3.) in regular matches but AI bots in human player controlled squads never perform action 3.) which is both a pity and silly.
It it silly in regular matches when an AI soldier has a Panzerfaust or a Dynamite bundle but does not use it against a tank which is right in front of him, especially when he is quite able to do so when in an AI controlled squad in custom matches versus the AI.
All this is both a pity and puzzling.
For example. In regular matches more often than not I am the only human player building rally points and ammunition crates. So in custom matches versus the AI the friendly and enemy bots deploy rally points and ammunition crates (only defending bots) meaning the AI is actually MUCH MORE useful in custom matches than the majority of the human players in regular matches.
Simply allow the AI bots to do the same in regular matches that they are currently already doing in custom matches versus the AI. This would make for a much better regular match experience for all human players.
So I would like the AI to perform the same actions in regular matches with human players as they currently already do in custom matches versus the AI. That would not only make the regular matches more entertaining but also less irksome.
It would be much better for Enlisted if regular matches with humans would be limited to 4 versus 4 human players reinforced by 6 versus 6 AI squads.
It would be much better if there were constantly at least 2 versus 2 AI controlled aircraft active in the regular matches. With the defending side having 2 AI controlled fighter aircraft and the attacking side 2 AI controlled fighter-bomber and bomber aircraft. The AI controlled fighter aircraft would then be a counter to human controlled fighter-bomber and bomber aircraft. This would also give the human players in fighter aircraft something useful to do because currently pure fighter aircraft (so those without ordnance) can only strafe which has little impact on ground combat, except for those human players that are using wall hacks which allows them to see where they need to strafe which is one way to spot a cheater.
The new APC class has made clear that the AI currently already can fire from vehicles on anything within their line of sight. It would be great if the bow machine gunners in human controlled vehicles (tanks, assault gun, tank destroyers etc.) would also be allowed to use their bow machine-guns as well. Currently human player controlled vehicles with 2 machine guns will only fire the one controlled directly by the human player, that is usually either the coaxial machine gun or AA machine gun, this means that the AI controlled bow machine gun is currently not used at all. Which is more than silly. The AI bow machine gunner should fire his machine gun just like the AI solders in APCs currently also do.
The aerial gunners in AI controlled bomber aircraft are currently very effective. There is NO VIABLE REASON for AI controlled aircraft and vehicle guns in human controlled aircraft/vehicles to not be equally as effective as the aerial gunners in fully AI controlled bomber aircraft.
The amount of cheaters and ways to cheat has grown so much and has such a bad effect on game play in almost all online âshooterâ game nowadays. This will not be stopped and it cannot be countered effectively, the experience of the past decade has made this overwhelmingly clear.
One way to still keep online âshootersâ enjoyable and challenging and to âbeatâ the cheaters is simply to let the human players play against the AI only and improving the AI to make the matches more challenging. In the long run this leads to human player retention.
It would a good improvement if friendly AI soldiers would no longer step in front of a player controlled vehicle. I cannot count the number of times I have run over friendly AI soldiers that step in front of my vehicle, which results in their death.
It would be great if the attacking and defending side would each have two AI controlled ground vehicles (tanks, assault guns, tank destroyers etc.). Something is seriously not right when Enlisted does not feature AI controlled ground vehicles but a simple mod for Skyrim is able to do just that. I should think Enlisted will be able to at least outperform a Skyrim mod.
One currently puzzling thing is that the AI controlled squads do not use the new APC class as âspawnâ points, not in custom matches versus the AI and not in regular matches. The AI controlled squads do use human player deployed rally points for âspawningâ, but they do not use human deployed/controlled APCs for âspawningâ. The AI needs to start to use the APCs as well for âspawningâ. This would not only make for more interesting custom matches versus the AI but also for more interesting regular matches.

because i have my own mod with AI mortar squad:
not a single AI-controlled-mortar even fires a single shot
not even created soldiers with only mortars as main weapon.

Also none of the standard bot squads have mortars. Pretty useless feature and it doesnt even work
Today I was very frustrated with the Ai âteammatesâ as they contionously lay in front of my bipod deployed weapon obstruying the view but not giving any cover.
Please solve that.
Just press X while pointing few meters away.
I am not saying this issue shouldnât be fixed. But thereâs some solution for your problem already.
