Tank Replacements

a bit of context

good day/evening/night to all of you,

today, i would like to bring an important matter that in my opinion, would solve many of the current issues related to tanks.
especially, when talking of those last, we can all agree that current tanks are a bit weird. and not very balanced ( in terms of fighting ammong each other ).

i know that it has been talked for over months from now, but i would like to end it once and for all, making it also easy for the devs to catch at the first looking, rather than lose them selves in houndreds of comments.

so without further do, let’s jump into my suggestion.

Main Idea:

as said in the title, i think that some of the current tanks should be replaced. in order to give every tank a fair fight keeping in mind armor, survivability and performance.
so we’ll go in order:

Panzer III Ausf.B Should be Replaced by Panzer 38(t) Ausf. A

this is the first tank that should be replaced,
as this post says clearly; (0.1.6.67) The Pz. Kpfw. III Ausf. B was never employed during operation Barbarossa
the panzer III Ausf.B was outdated by then.

and a good, fair replacement for the Panzer III would be the panzer 38(t) Ausf. A.
during the invasion of moscow, there were many of these.

as you can see, it’s a formidable opponent having similar values of a BT-7.

T-26 Should be Replaced by a T-26E.

it’s a bit of a shame the current T-26 it’s not performing well. not to mention, most of the time, the T-26 unlike the panzer III, cannot receive punishment, as most of the time, the shell will likely pen and kill all the crew. not very good in terms of survivability and armor.
so insthead, i would solve this isse with the T26E:

as you can see from the stats, has better armor, and better turret. so germans tanker will have to aim for weaker spots. rather than 1 tap the tank at any side.

Conclusion:

hopefully we can finally bring balance to the current tank mess.
i hope you can agree, and enjoy this new idea for tanks.
if you have any feedback or thoughts about it, fell free to leave them below.

Cheers.

Quick search on the T-26E shows that 100 T-26s were modded into T-26Es in various combat scenario’s, including Battle of Moscow, so it would be a valid fit (source, wikipedia, so not sure if that will be enough for Darkflow)

almost insulting.

the AUDACITY of this man doubting my searching skills across the internet.
( jk )

on a serious note, i think it’s the best tank that can fight, and can get killed just like any pz III E.

so giving an actual proper fight for both sides.

It’s enough when there aren’t any better options.

If you need justification, there are plenty of undocumented field upgrades (like a Chi Ha with thicc field-upgraded turret armor that’s in a museum now), and from what I’m aware E on soviet tanks just means “Ivan bolted an extra armor plate on”, so you can count on home-made Es being a thing.

Solid idea. I’ve been complaining a lot about tanks lol And it’s true. Yes, maybe replacing some models might help, like Soviet LVL 1 tank is really bad, yes. I support some of this.

Also suggestion - 2 tank spawns per team - maybe add a timer? Between when tank is lost - and another spawn is permitted. So say, 2 tanks are active - 1 gets blown - nobody can spawn 2nd tank for say 3-5 minutes. So no tank spam happens. just a thought

T-60 isn’t exactly bad. It just requires more skill to be as efficient as the German Pz2. In return, it has a higher potential. The T-26 is suggested to be replaced here.

Tank spam has never been an issue, though?
Infantry have a pretty easy time taking out bad tank players.

Maybe they could keep the T-26 as it is but make the T-26E an upgrade you can get though the tank “workshop upgrades” tech tree. This will probably create a “stock syndrome” like for many tanks in war thunder but hey, I’m just here to give ideas

You definitely main German lol ok ok fine, there is no problem, ok? Everything is super peachy. Except Soviets always lose, and nobody is playing it. But otherwise, it’s peachy ))

It won’t bring balance. T-26E is garbage

exept it preatty much does?

has 40 mm of armor. if you angle that thing, the panzer will have somewhat, harder time to hit you. not to mention, the turret reinforced.

so, it bring balance, as it would be a fight on who aim for the weakspot first.

i suppose you don’t have the the T-26E in war thunder.

like, if you don’t have something and you never test it, you don’t know the outcome.

It has huge weakspots. One HUGE part of the vehicle only has 15mm of armour. I mean, Yes… T-26E is better than the current t-26 and will sometimes protect you from Panzer 2’s but T-26E is just extremely slow and in Enlisted, you can arm every soldier you want with TNT packs meaning that
t-26E is too slow to avoid TNT packs

unfortunally, there are no other solutions.

a t-70, it’s just made by two crew memember.

i was opting for a t-50.
but the germans would not be able to pen it with the current tanks.
according to war thunder, a pz III E "Could" ( and the only one ) pen a t-50 only from the turret side ( with pzgr 40, which are not a thing in enlisted). not to mention, the t-50 will be able to pen any german tank, no matter even if those last are angled. definitly not a solution.

if you have better options be my guest.

and before someone reading this will suggest KV-1s t34s or even T-28 the answer it’s no.
as this thread it’s about balance the current tanks, not create even more problems.

so, the the T-26E it’s the only good replace.

as tanks historically, and stastically speaking are preatty much different, and you have to compensate with something considering others factors. or we don’t go much further than where we currently are.

Unless you want to add a RBT-5 xDD
which would be an equally bad idea

( i never thought that the moment would come, but: )

It’s never going to hit the level of efficiency that the Panzer II does because the Panzer II doesn’t need to account for as many threats, so it can prioritize hitting targets over protecting itself.
