Made as expansion on this thread: Tank Replacements - #2 by 5762269 It gives a lot more information on two of the tanks mentioned here.
I would like to propose a 2-stage tank progression system, where each side gets 2 tank squads, one default, one later in the campaign. Both would have tanks unlockable in what otherwise would be the weapon tree, for ~5-15 squad upgrade points.
The tanks of each squad would be as followed:
Germany:
Reserve: Pz35t > Pz38t > Pz4A
Late tanks: Pz2C, Pz2C Late, Pz3E
Soviets:
Reserve: T-26 > T-26E > T-26-4
Late tanks: T-60 > BT-5 > BT-7
Info about the tanks:
Pz35t: 14.5mm frontal armor, 37mm gun you are already familiar with from Pz3.
Pz38t: 25mm frontal armor, 37mm gun
Pz4A: back to weaker 14.5mm armor, but 75mm gun that would only receive HE in this campaign
Pz2C: earlier version to the one we have now, with 14.5mm frontal armor
Pz2C Late: current version of Pz2C
Pz3E: current version
T-26: current version
T-26E: 45mm frontal armor except for driver port 15mm weakspot
T-26-4: 14.5mm armor, 76mm HE only gun
T-60: current version
BT-5: smaller, slightly weaker BT-7, essentially
BT-7: current version
This way, both sides get tanks that either have better armor, or better guns, or better mobility. There will be infantry support tanks with only HE, etc, everything you’d need to get a (mostly) balanced playing field. Cheers
