I would like a small supply vehicle squad of 2~4 engineers.
They would be classified as infantry like the Tunisian reconnaissance motorcycle teams.
They do not have combat capability, but they are small body and rapid speed.
They carry supplies, providing ammunition, medkit, and repair tools to tanks and soldiers in close proximity.
If you are playing tanks and run out of ammo, it is hard to get back to the supply area.
Tanks are big, but the Enlisted map is full of obstacles and the paths are very narrow. ā¦so, the supply vehicle.
Players who want to actively support their comrades ride around the battlefield in a small tractor.
They deliver ammunition to tanks and repair them with repair kitsā¦and you can pursue an infantry unit that is quickly attacking an enemy CP and resupply them.
I think adding squads that give you something fun to do besides killing the enemy would make an interesting change to your gameplay.
Candidate vehicles for each faction include
France/Germany/Italy
Tracteur de ravitaillement pour chars 1937 L
Medics exist in some campaigns (and post-merge will be available to all nations) to give heals and med supplies.
You have the option already to take tool kits (probably going to want a backpack to carry those and medkits).
By other āsuppliesā Iām guessing you mean grenades, of which there is already a spam issue.
While the vehicle may be interesting, as a āsuppliesā vehicle I cannot say that I agree. It would centralize too many aspects into one thing, taking away what makes other squads special.
2 players get a squad with a medic and engineer. They set up barbed wire far back in a position where the enemy wonāt reach, then each plop down a medical box. They then walk through the barbed wire and intentionally take damage, then they pick up a medkit from the other personās box. This used to be an easy way to grind an absurd amount of score until they rebalanced it.
How well the supply vehicle should perform would need to be adjusted.(To prevent abuse and not be OP).
There could be an option to choose what supplies to load on the back of the vehicle.
By doing some action in the resupply zone, you can load, tank shells/ammo/medical supplies/repair tools & building materials/boxfuls of vodka into the back of the truck.
Carry them to the front line and use them.
Only one type of supply can be used at a time; if you need another type of supply, you must return to the supply zone.
Also, supply vehicles will not be a higher level of presence than medics and engineers. So it does not take away their uniqueness.
I think the existing ammo and medical supply boxes have an advantage in that they can be placed in inconspicuous locations in the base. Supply vehicles, however, are somewhat unsuitable for this kind of use.
Supply trucks can themselves act like ammo boxes or medical supply boxes, but even small vehicles have difficulty in to the building.
A place like the tractor factory in Stalingrad might be able to break in, but it would be conspicuous from the outside.
I already know that the STZ-5 exists in Stalingrad.
It is very pretty cute and nice. But I have not seen anyone using thisā¦
Give him a few unique abilities and make him a vehicle that represents Enlisted.
I didnāt know that Italy had such cool and cute vehicles. Thank you for telling us about it. I would love to see this in Tunisia. It would look great in the landscape of Montecassino and Operation Husky that will eventually come.
Very cute.
Supply units will probably never be a popular unit. Because many people play the game for the exhilaration of killing the enemy.
but sometimes you just want to play with something else. At such times, supporting your allies as a supply unit is a wonderful change of pace.
The game offers players more than just powerful weapons. Some, such as Stalingradās Po-2, are clearly impractical. But I like it.
Why use the Po-2 when there are better aircraft out there is because it is a nice change from the usual style of play, something that gives you more ways to play. Itās a lot of fun for me.
First off, they CAN resupply flamethrower fuel. The flamethrower has to be completely empty though to get it. It consumes the entire ammo box to refill one flamethrower tank. (Mortars and AT weapons can also be resupplied.)
Secondly, Vehicle ammo, rifle grenades, and hand grenades are EXTREMELY powerful tools. That is why they are so restricted. The vehicles have to retreat back to their spawn side to refill, and grenades are simply limited to prevent even more spam than there already is.
