Most of the time pilots crash when they drop whole payload. Because of that, building AAA or flying a fighter is meaningless, especially when enemy has rockets.
I would like to suggest some anti suicide system, at least for planes.
If the player crashes / suicides 3 times in a row his plane is blocked for some time (lets say 5 minutes). This counter is passed to the next match so if you crash 2 times, start another (2nd) match and crash 3rd time, you will be punished. But if you won’t crush, counter will be zeroed for the next (3rd) match.
Then there are couple of options:
ban is active only during the battle you gained it
ban is active through multiple battles but wores down even if you are offline
ban is active through multiple battles and you have to actively play to get rid of it
Because you have 3 chances, technical problems like bad internet won’t give you this “plane ban” as long as you are not stubborn and know when to stop trying.
This won’t stop the plane spam but it may limit it as you won’t be able to repeatedly suicide to “rearm” your plane.
the game is in early stages, but to prevent this i would definitely make airfields and need to take off an airfield and get to a battle field so it is more painful to actually lose such a strong part vehicle of the game.
If you are shot down by enemy, no penalty, you were shot down, you did not do it on purpose, kills from your bombing run count as normal.
However, if you get kills during your bombing run and crash the plane intentionally, without being shot down by enemy, your kills count but, you get minus points so in long run it will not count towards getting EXP. IRL trading trained pilot and plane for few ground kills bad tradeoff.
This would discourage players from crashing because they will not get any exp from it. If you do it by accident, live with it, be better next time, but the game should not reward you for failure to save your pilot and plane.
So what happens when you get 1 rifle bullet to the rudder and your plane becomes uncontrolable and you “suicide” because there’s no option to bail out?
There is no real way to determine whether a crash was accidental or intentional, unless they had real admins constantly watching each match. A crash is a crash and it’s just something we have to live with until people start learning how to fly.
That’s why you have 3 chances. There is no way you would have 3 accidents.
And even if you somehow manage to have 3 accidents, its your fault. You should have stopped when you had a chance.
So I see that most of you don’t like my idea.
What are your suggestions to solve problem of suicide bombing (other than “don’t change anything” / “remove planes”)?
The reason people suicide bomb is because planes are awful to play. You spend most of your time firing random shots at an empty battlefield hoping to get a hit because people do not fancy putting markers down. Not to mention the esoteric damage calculation that seems to happen when planes get hit that results in controls being less predictable than a pitbull on meth.
Instead of getting into very elaborate restriction mechanism the solution is to make plane gameplay actually enjoyable. Increasing rendering distance would be a great start, as is a simple heatmap-like view that allows you to spot firefights from above better and reduce (but not eliminate) your reliance on allied markers.
I haven’t really had any issues with this but I can see where you all are coming from.
So instead of having a banning system or minus XP system, just add a buy in. Such as you sacrifice “X” amount of your experience to use your plane. If you are a decent pilot you can make that experience back no problem. In my opinion that would deter players from simply crashing into the ground doing a quick suicide run (making your plane significantly more valuable), while this can be a deterrent to newer players I believe this would pose much less of an issue than simply banning people from Aircraft.
Why would you get banned? You just would not get any exp.
You got hit, that is fine. You did not intentional decide to be guided missile but got hit and crashed. Fine by me.
This is also good idea that we can work on. But War Thunder has similar reward mechanism and lots of people only know how to head on. I actually stopped playing because of this and some other things. Go head on, kill one or two planes and go to the next match, exp is here, why waste time. Game is not rewarding you to survive the battle which is at least for me wrong.
yes currentley it seems in general , in the game , there is no any good explaination to keep yoursefl alive , even with inf , it pays much butter ,(in any mode outside attaking side on the art point) just to get rambo style kill as many as u can and then respawn again , sometime im alone im m squad triying to survive and “sneak” around , yo get 0 reward , while i just can go killl someone , and then spwan again.
i think in geral we need , less spawn per player or muhc more time , now is too COD style running around gun blazing
I don’t know how to reply to two people with the same post so here I go.
I understand what you are saying and thinking about it, I agree. So what about adjusting the ticket system? Make it more like the game “Squad”, granted Enlisted is MUCH faster pace and less tactical. But with that said Enlisted could adapt to something more like Squads ticket system. Such as planes/tanks cost more tickets. Granted the initial implementation of it would be pretty bad, such as people still suiciding themselves costing the team more tickets but I think in the long run it would die down because the faster the game goes the less experience you get.
