Suggestion: New Player Experience Enhancements [Boot Camp "Tutorial" Event]

OK, so we all know that the NPE in Enlisted is absolutely atrocious. So many players starting out have no idea of the many mechanics of the game.

What I propose is a “Boot Camp” event that is standing (until completed - NO TIME CONSTRAINT). All current players would be able to complete it as well, however the FOCUS of the challenges should be set to showing mechanics of the game to new players. The reward needs to be powerful enough to be an extremely valuable obtain for a new account. Each faction will have their own set of challenges (though they will be identical: i.e. will be X with Y Faction … and each faction will have their own set). Completing all challenges for said faction rewards the event squad for that faction.

So, firstly the big reward: The Elite Engineer Squad: (1 per faction)

  • Elite Engineer Squad can build all engineer structures

5 Man Squad

  • 1 Elite Engineer (Elite Engineer is able to utilize EVERY primary in the game | This will be the only non-swappable soldier in the squad)
  • 4 Engineer I’s (These may be swapped out similar to how event APC’s have swappable soldiers)
  • Squad will be extremely versatile with the following slot loadout: 5 Engineers (to include Elite Engineer), 5 Riflemen, 3 Medics, 3 Assaulters, 3 Snipers, 3 Machine Gunners, 3 AT Gunners, 2 Radio Operators, 2 Mortarmen, 2 Flamethrowers. This effectively makes this squad able to be used as any squad type you want.
  • Will come with 5 fully upgraded BR II Bolt Actions: USSR the Winchester M1895, USA/UKC: Ross MK III, Germany/Italy: Mannlicher M1895, Japan: Type 99 Rifle (Early)

Next up: What you have to do to get these squads (remember we are focusing these challenges to introduce different mechanics and good gameplay to new players). If you all can think of things I’ve missed, drop it down below.

Each challenge should net a small reward … possibly silver and/or XP boosters, etc. to help new players out. Each Faction will have their own set of the following challenges:

  • Unlock Engineers I
  • Unlock Medics I
  • Unlock AT Gunner I
  • Unlock Fighter Pilot I
  • Unlock Attack Pilot I
  • Unlock Assaulter II
  • Unlock APC Driver I
  • Unlock Machine Gunner I
  • Unlock Radio Operator I
  • Unlock Mortar I
  • Level 5 Engineers I
  • Level 5 Rifleman I
  • Level 5 Sniper I
  • Level 5 Medics I
  • Level 5 AT Gunner I
  • Level 5 Fighter Pilot I
  • Level 5 Attack Pilot I
  • Level 5 Assaulter II
  • Level 5 APC Driver I
  • Level 5 Machine Gunner I
  • Level 5 Radio Operator I
  • Level 5 Mortar I

I elected to keep soldier types like Paratroopers and Flamethrowers out due to them being relatively unobtainable (in the case of Paratroopers … yes you can buy … but this shouldn’t require purchase to finish) and are more focused toward mid-high BR fights where they are min BR III, where new players should focus in BR I and II when possible. I did however want to make it possible to field flamethrowers should they continue playing.

In addition, I propose moving the Japan Tech Tree’s Engineer from slot 4 to slot 3 within Tier I to reduce the XP requirement of obtaining (other 3 factions have the Engineer I squad in slot 3).
