SS or NKVD UNITS

Hi can i ask will be there SS UNIT ON NORMANDY AND NKVD On moscow ?
Or it can be bcs for licens

Nah. Mostly because what they did was highly illegal in most of the world, and because nobody would want to play as them aside from closet worshippers of their doctrines.

Historically accurate means historically accurate there where over a million Waffen-SS soldiers in action on both fronts represented for example. NOT having them would be very non historical. You could have a user enabled toggle/switch that you could have to enable/disable to make it work. The camo is NOT illegal anywhere, only the collar patches maybe are someplace.

Yes, and this division was based on NKVD troops

Post Scriptum got away with having the Waffen SS. So I don’t get why Enlisted wouldn’t be allowed to have them, perhaps Waffen SS / NKDV units could be unlocked via Campaign progression instead of having them as purchasable Premium squads, that way they’re not directly making money off of controversial units.

If that is statement from devs (which is suggested by highlighting it), then what with USSR assaulter squad, which soldiers run in characteristic blue NKVD hats from the beggining of first open tests. What about censored units that were present in Berlin (changed division emblems, no insignia on uniforms). Even in first Normandy test there were a bunch of modeled and ready uniforms with SS camouflage - waisting that camouflage possibilities would be very bad for range of future cosmetics. Giving it to Wehrmacht trooper - bad for historical accuracy.
Overall, censoring illegal symbols (and not saying in describtion that those are SS/NKVD, just like in Berlin test) should be enough for having them ingame - of course in theatres they were really present.

I liked it the way it was implemented back then. It wasn’t obvious at the start that they are SS/NKWD but if you made tiny bit of research it became apparent.

This is mainly dictated by the laws of some countries where Nazi symbols are prohibited. Therefore, this is quite the right decision for a game that seeks to reflect a certain segment of history.

We already basically got them. Any units using MP41 are pretty much going to be SS, same thing with foreign weapons like the French SMG, captured Polish LMG, etc.

They’re SS in all but name. Nothing wrong with that either, cos it’s a game.

?

Weapons they use don’t make them SS units.

Wehrmacht did use a whole bunch of weapons, but historically it was far more likely the non-standard (often less effective amusingly) was given to the SS. So you can easily just give everyone foreign guns and LARP they’re some weird SS bunch.

So that’s what you ment.

Of course there’s no units ingame labelled as NKVD or SS, but lets face the truth, they let us MAKE said units. That and some are modelled after historically NKVD or SS units.

No, but all of them (Axis side) are historical Wehrmacht units so what you are saying here is wrong. Devs just want to use those weapons but that doesn’t make those units SS. No units is modelled particulary after SS right know. They have standard Feldgrau uniform that were identical for everyone or have WH camouflages.
NKVD on the other hard has its one squad - first Assaulter squad in Moscow. Those blue hats are too obvious.
