Soldiers rarely are saints when occupying enemy land and even if the warcrimes by the allies are less talked about they where way to common once germany had been reached.
Especially the french had a reputation for that which given the history between the counties is not suprising.

The Soviets were in their own league, Ive certainly read many accounts of the french as well, but as a whole, the british and US were more distinguished at least, not to say it didnt happen, but it was the exception to the rule rather than the rule with them.
@Naohmcete thanks for proving the point, to exclude units that committed warcrimes isnt really an option because certain factions cough Japan cough would cease to exist in game.
Though fr, my honest opinion on it all is that two nukes wasnt enough at the fire bombing of tokyo was justified. They merely reaped the whirlwind.

There is much debate about the number of Soviet civilian casualties, but it is estimated at around 20 million, while all German military and civilian casualties do not even reach 7 million!(Most of them were military) Some of these 20 million people were killed directly by shooting, mass executions, etc., and some were killed in bombings, sieges, etc. The crimes committed by the Soviets in Berlin are very insignificant compared to the crimes committed by Germany in the Soviet Union, 20 million people is not a small number! 20 million human!
Kinda hard to blame germany for collateral damages in a siege when your own goverment forced them to be there instead of allowing them to flee.

By the way, if you want to say that this is not a crime, then what the Red Army did in Berlin was not a crime either, because the Germans prevented many Germans from escaping from Berlin and promoted staying in Berlin.

Do you think that only the SS and NKVD committed war crimes on a large scale? Because your very wrong if thats your thought, however it is worth point out, for general heer units it was less common against civilians unless explicated ordered by a higher up, the infamous commando order or the actions of the clearing of the swamps, come to mind as great examples of that.
As for the soviets? I mean ffs the army set looting regulations up, so not only was it allowed, it was encouraged. I genuinely dont think you could find a unit in the red army that didnt commit atrocious war crimes against civilians, let alone against POWs.
And despite all that, the IJA and the IJN somehow made both of them combined look petty by comparison, the most brutal reprisals committed by the germans and general barbarity of the soviets genuinely is just your average Tuesday to the Japanese, you cannot point to a place where the japanese set foot in where they didnt commit the worst actions known to man.
A tragic tale really since its all due to the rise of the military in Japan post coup, where before then they were literally the standard setters in terms of the red cross, famously so during the first world war and the war against the imperial russians, their red cross was widely acclaimed for their impartial and dedicated work.

Killing prisoners is not what we are discussing, all sides (including the Americans) were doing it.
Many of them have never even set foot in a foreign country, so this is not true.

Yes, this is still a crime, I never deny these crimes, I just said that the crimes committed by the Germans were much more than the Americans and the Soviets.

When it happened with yanks it was on a small scale and acts were committed by individuals. So setting the yanks and the soviets on the same level is horribly unfair. The soviets were just as bad if not worse than the germans.
Then fine throw on frontline units, or hell even rear line too. If you wanna be pedantic about it that is, and thats hardly setting a gold star now is it, “These people didnt commit crimes because they never got the chance to”. Fuck me, doesnt that at least click as a bit off to you?

Crime is always crime, but the crime of the Red Army was mostly out of revenge, the Germans attacked them and killed millions of people, wouldn’t you seek revenge? I don’t deny their crime, but you know, man is a vengeful creature.
On the other hand, the Germans committed these crimes out of racism, they did it just out of unfounded hatred.
