Something to add to Axis and USSR this major update

Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,

First of all, an update should NOT be called a major update as long as there isn’t at least one addition to each faction’s tech tree.
Next time just postpone the update until there is something for everyone.

But here we are now so let’s scrap the barrel anyway.

First something for Soviets:
Soviets received many lend-leased guns during the war and while it’s true as a general rule that factions should have their own weapons, sometimes simply there are no candidates for certain roles.

M50 Reising
During the war, the Soviet Union received 6,000 M50 Reisings as part of their Lend-Lease aid from the United States. While it’s a very, very lazy addition, it is a necessary one due to the general lack of BR1 submachine guns besides the PPD-34, with seemingly no domestic Soviet candidates.
Honestly I cant see the M50 Reising getting more popular than PPD-34, but at least it does give Soviets a bit of variety.
reising

Alternatively Soviets could get a lend-leased Bren gun as well which would be a good addition to BR2 Soviet LMGs which are in a sorry state at the moment.

European Axis
Mas-38 as MP722(f)
hq720

The Mas-38 is a French submachine gun adopted to be the standard issue submachine gun of the French army however it was adopted too late and France was invaded before significant quantities could have reached French soldiers.
But Mas-38 production continued with occupation with many thousand made for Vichy France and the Wehrmacht.
It’s actually in the game as an “event gun”, it was a reward for playing the ridiculously bad April fools event.

If the M1921AC Thompson returned as a tech tree weapon despite its astronomical price then Mas-38 can be a tech tree weapon as everyone wanted it to be.
Let’s be realistic, this is the French standard issue submachine gun of the war, there is no way this gun will stay exclusive to the event so the guns rewarded in the event should be made unique by giving the gun a unique field paint job much like the whitewashed Mp40.

Thank you for your time and attention, you spent more time on this suggestion then our devs did on the new weapons and vehicles.

Well not exactly :

Submachine gun N.S. Sergeyeva.

nice find, I did some research to see what characteristic this gun has, but I could not find the fire rate.
If I had to guess it has high fire rate (like most guns firing tokarev rounds) and if thats the case than it would be just a partizan ppd-34, cool choice for a guerrilla squad, but I think a 9mm or 45.acp gun would be far more interesting.

I also happen to have a 9mm gun: Arsenal Tallinn 38M

I planned on writing a suggestion for it, but TheSaboteur59 beat me to it, he wrote a really good high quality suggestion which did NOT receive the love it deserved.

Well its from Belarus so its nice looking but its similar to PPSh I must check it had 20 or 25 rounds mag and I don’t remember the rate of fire:

I think it had both, according to the source I read recently.

Well there is nothing about fire rate its ‘‘select fire’’:

Скоринко Г.В., Лопарев С.А. Партизанское оружие. Минск, - 2014 : Л …

But Sadly here they said nothing about rate of fire when I have time I can look for the full book and read it all. Its based on PPSh-41. And it had very bad range. So I would imagine something with high rate of fire but bad range and accuracy was also very bad.

If I had to make it it would be something like this:

But more research would be required but since its a very small gun with bad accuracy i would imagine Obrez for BR I with maybe some buffs.

I love the MAS38…but since it was a paid event reward I can’t see them adding it to the TT…maybe as an event squad. It’s kinda OP so would love more.

if M1921AC Thompson which was sold at 50$ is being added to tech tree then Mas-38 can be added too, besides I said it already but I will say it again that Mas-38 will surely get added to a tech tree eventually, its the standard French submachine gun of WW2, there is no way that this weapon would stay exclusive to that terrible event.
Which is why

It’s not like French was any relevant in WW2.

It’s like saying that standard issue rifle of polish army has to be in tech tree. It doesn’t make any sense. Neither Poland nor France was major power during WW2.

I definitely don’t see the need. Any content of similar minor nations can be easily treated as exclusive and thus be limited.

This is true…but I can’t imagine the MAS added as they barely have french squads.

TBH I don’t like reusing assets and just giving them to other factions (Japan being exception not many things to go around)

For soviets if DEVs aren’t lazy there are too many SMGs in particular with 25 round magazines they just have to check 1931 SMG competition for soviets

As for Axis the best thing to do would be to add ZK-383P (Police variant , IRL it didn’t had the ability to change the barrel like normal ZK-383 and it didn’t have bipod) with some stat tweaks .

I did think about low effort quick to add guns, but even those would take these devs months to make.
Still guns like captured ZB-30 for Soviets or obrez ppsh41 with drum mag were considered.

technically France was a major power - they just failed miserably
