Some ideas I want to see after the merger

  1. squad creation system replace current squad picking and selection system.
  2. instead of just have thinga like ammo bags grenade bags introduce a inventory system that allow players to arrange equipment for their soliders in hall. like the inventory in man of war. where we can see the weight and take equipment that we think suitable for our solider.
  3. some sort of ai takeover option. That will give the right to command your solider to ai’s command. or even give the whole squad under ai’s control and just sit back and watch the show.

I am somewhat interested in this

I completely disagree. Why else are we playing a shooter in the first place

i often leave my ai inside some house if i want to hunt enemy rallies or kill an sniper. Would be nice if the ai would do something useful during this time like laying mines or building fortifications

Soooo 9x MG and Assault Squads? Cause I’m hearing 9x MG and Assault Squads

Other two things…eh? I find them fine as is, although the AI being a little more autonomous would be nice like specialists using their specialties and placing mines and whatnot

Personally I’d rather see more content than anything. Recoiless Rifles and Pershing’s when?

You’re going to have to elaborate what you mean

I like the idea, but they would need to make the weight actually mean more in the game than what it currently does. However if this was tied into that:

Then maybe the overhaul like you suggest would be a lot more worthwhile.

I disagree. AI are dumb when they are in charge. Just look at how many get slaughtered trying to push points.
Other suggestions have been made for advanced commands for the player to issue to the AI, that I could see being useful, but what you are suggesting just seems like it would end badly.

Also, it currently exists where you can point at an objective, and give your AI the order, and they will automatically try to go to that objective, no matter the distance.

Now, the other thing, is I could see if they added options regarding how AI occupied an area.

  • DEFAULT - Just like current.

  • Defensive - They automatically seek shelter, make better use of sandbags, etc, and will try to move into cover if explosives land nearby, they keep an eye out in all directions.

  • Offensive - They keep their primary focus in the area where you are looking. If you sprint to an area, or bayonet charge, they will do the same. If in cover, they will also find nearby cover but still keep their attention in the direction you are facing. This allows you to create more effective firing lines.

So the general idea is players have to create squads instead of choosing squads.
Like in the main hall place you have “+” in squad section.
click on it, then pop up a menu asking which kind of squads to create. for example, if I want to create a mg squad, it will create an empty squad of 7 solider places, with limitation of 3 mg guy and 4 other guys. and in this new squad created, player can choose the icon of the squad and name of the squad.

and players can get “upgraded squad” or “advanced squad” in the tech tree. Like assault engineer as advanced variant of engineer squad. Which allow everyone in this squad take assault rifle. or have paratrooper squad as anvanced variant of assault squad. or “trench filler squad” as advanced variant of rifleman squad which have placement for 15 soliders but have a higher br and can only take bolt action into the game
