Solution to AP mines frustration without nerfing them

1)Add the perks for engineer to see mines on the ground from a certain distance
2)Increase the explosive range of explosive pack but for ap mines only, that’s means for example that at 4 meters the enemy will not die but the Ap on 4 meters range will detonate.
With this introduction if someone is interested in clean an area he can successfully and without issue, at the price of using engineer and carrying large grenade pouchs.
It seems right and appropriate to me, I would like to hear the opinion of mine detractors on this matter.

No, engineers are already the most OP and must have class.
There’s no way buffing them even more is good idea.

AT soldiers should get this perk instead.

I don’t see why it should be engineer only. This class already has a lot of utility and is basically a musthave.
It doesn’t make sens from realism point of view either. Every soldier can find mines, better or worse.

At least we agreed on the idea, even if the engineer for me is the most right choice for this perks i’m open to every class soldier that is not assaulter or simple infantry.
Btw, right after engi my must have is the AT guy. But maybe bc i play only infantry so i can’t count on my. tank or plane to deal with veichle.

WHAT DO AT soldiers have to do with Anti-personal mine

With eye yes, but for me the engi in real life could have a metal something? So for me make sense with him.
Btw for gameplay wise i don’t think assaulter and rifleman should have it. If yes, let’s just trow the mine in the bin and that’s it.

I THINK THEY MEAN BY SETTING THEM OFF

Yeah, you are right. With eye and feet :+1:

I disagree that it should be a perk. I think it should be a default ability

The definition of mine is to take the enemy by surprise, if every soldier can see the mines without even a perk what is the point of placing them?

(I guess you were joking but I’ll post this video anyway.)

Actually main purpose of mines is to redirect or slow down the enemy.
That’s why in my post about a similar perk I suggested it should detect mines only when walking (or crouching in a more harsh version) but not when sprinting. So you are ether slowed down or killed by a mine (so they still are useful).

Another evil idea is to make the mine icon visible to the team placing the mines, but still trigger them on approach.
This limits mine spam and makes players think about where to place it.

If it is a perk for everyone at least should be an expansive one in my opinion, for sure not like the fire one.

No lol or yes but with friendly fire on for everybody

By allowing landmine destruction to earn some points, people will no longer dislike landmines.
We don’t lack the means to counter landmines (explosives, artillery, tank guns, gun fire), it’s just that no one is willing to do it.
If one person in the team is willing to search for landmines, they will receive their score, and other players won’t be so easy to step on landmines anymore, which would be great.Of course, this will also make people willing to use artillery fire on minefields, making it much easier to clear landmines.

Well the engineer suggestion has been flogged enough.

To your second point, isn’t something like this already in game. I’m happy to stand corrected but can’t AP mines destroyed by artillery ? So much like external engineering works, if something lands on them or close enough by some margin, they’re neutralised.
If you’re running into AP mines inside buildings and objectives then its basically trying to further dilute the defensive options for the other team. Time and relative proximity spawning to the first objective are already on the attackers side.
The fix for laying any mine is to have the soldier stationary - like building something and the counter is move slowly and shoot it if you can spot it, or send in the bots to clear the minefield.
