SMG variety for late tier Allies

Would be cool so see more SMG’s for late tier allies. Would also be great to see some more ANZAC stuff and was wondering if something like the Austen SMG could be added to maybe kinda tackle the late game issue of only Thompsons?

Austen mark 1 is in game already. Pretty sure it’s low tier though?

I would really like to see the Sterling SMG to be honest. Alongside this the US is rumoured to be getting an AR in the near future. I was told about this by a Community Manager. But it is not clear as to when and how the devs will add it. It is as of now just under consideration. Makes sense though. Since the 50 round Thompson is not suitable at all for BR V. They should just take the Chicago Typewriter with the 30 round mag which is there in the tech tree and give us a 100 round version of that gun. That is the best Thompson variant out three apart from the .30 cal. Other than that yeah the SMG options for BR V Allies is quite lackluster.

Probably only when the Allied and Japanese Aasault Engineers come, which will probably come after the Super Pershing + two weeks.

I personally quite like it. Not the best br2 SMG but not the worst. The biggest issue is that since it’s an event squad you sacrifice a lot since you only have a 5 man squad, so that’s what makes it not worth it to me.

I feel like Thompsons might deserve a damage and damage drop off buff, I read often that comparing 9mm vs 45acp makes them kinda equal in a direct stopping power test per bullet, while the 45acp is bigger, has less velocity, weights more and has more recoil.

That being said, even though 9mm has more velocity and thus has less bullet drop than 45 ACP - I read recently that specifically because of the bigger mass, 45acp loses less kinetic energy over range.

If I combine that with the common knowledge that PPSH ammo has alot of power behind a very small bullet, one could rebalance pistol calibers into:

45 acp = hard recoil, less damage drop, more effective range but harder to use because of bullet drop

9mm = low recoil, stays the same, less effective range than 45acp but easier to use because flat shooting

7.62 Tokarev = no recoil, close range damage buff but much less accurate at longer ranges.

From what I see from my research 7.62 Tokarev is so violent that it deals in no way less damage than 9mm or 45acp arguably even more, however seems less stable at longer ranges, and loses because of its small mass energy much quicker.

So to speak, instead of having 9mm and 45acp being a two hit kill up close 10 meters and 7.62 a three hit from the start, all 3 bullets should start being 2 hit kills, but the bigger bullets should be more effective at medium ranges.

It’s not garbage, lol. Get good.

it shoots like a drunken sailor lands anywhere but the enemies, sure at very close range it doesn’t matter but at over 30m it pisses me off every time, and -hor recoil won’t fix awful recoil that goes all over in horizontal plane.

Nice. Thanks for sharing this information. Appreciate it. Hopefully, the devs take this into consideration.

Yeah. The US has a lot of stuff planned it seems. Some of the community managers have hinted at this in past posts as well.

It should be added to the tech tree, just like the M2 Mortars were.

I dont think that exact variant will be added just a hunch though if it did I would have no issue .
But the other Austen (MK II) has a camo so I would like to see that

There is also Austen (S) MK 1 which was according to Wiki used by Z Special Unit
could be added as an event with the squad .(S stands for silenced I guess)

For modern 9mm, yes. I think there was a much more noticeable difference between the two in the 1940’s. Could be wrong though

I don’t necessarily think so, no. Modern softpoint and hollowpoint 45 ACPs can be insanely poweful though.

Also, actually Italians made a special 9mm round for their Berettas during ww2 that had more powder behind it. So arguably ww2 Italian 9mm could be more powerful than standard modern 9mm.

Lol. They could think to do that and still couldn’t win a war
But yeah more load, more energy. More energy, more effect on target up till you get to the point where you just over penetrate

I mean in the end what really makes a bullet powerful is how much energy actually gets transferred into the target. Overpenetration is real, however having a soft bullet that easily deforms + super high velocity is a crazy combination.

We don’t have different ammo types in Enlisted, and while there certainly were different ammos from self made sniper rounds, higher pressure rounds, armor piercing rounds and even high explosive bullets - in 99% of the time the regular soldier would carry regular military ball rounds.

Mmm hollow point do some fun stuff to flesh. Lol

Also, talking about that Italian 9mm - I think how I understood it, they added spice to those rounds to gain more effective range - since you know… fighting in the open desert.
