To be honest, I don’t understand what’s going on with SMG ammo.
There is no logic in distributing the number of magazines.
It used to be that the amount of ammunition for the SMG was stated as 120-140 or two magazines. That doesn’t work half the time.
FNAB-43 - 200 rounds = 5 magazines
All other German SMGs except Beretta M38 and M1918 and MP43 = 150-160 rounds - 5 magazines
Beretta M38 - 120 rounds - 3 magazines. Why so few?
Beretta M1918 - 125 rounds - 5 magazines
MP43 - 120 rounds - 4 magazines.
Allies have M1 and M1A1 Thompson - 120 rounds = 4 magazines.
Berlin, USSR. PPSh with a 35-round magazine - 175 rounds = 5 magazines, why? After all, it could have had 4 magazines, like the PPS-42.
My experience playing with SMG is that 120 rounds is uncomfortable and literally forces me to use ammo pouches (can I at least get grenade pouches somewhere or a backpack for first aid kits).
Bottom line: It would be good to adjust the ammo, bringing that number up to 150-160 rounds.
Beretta M38, Beretta M1918, M1 and M1A1 Thompson, MP43 should get another extra magazine. Then their ammo will become equal to all other weapons. I might have forgotten other machine guns, you can add.
Otherwise, I just don’t see the logic in how randomly guns get ammo without any logic.
I’ll also leave a link to my other thread where I wrote about a flexible pouch system that would allow everyone to easily customize the extra gear we take into battle.
Moscow SMG’s:
PPD 34/38 = 142 (2 magazines)
PPD 34/38(box) = 150 (6)
PPD 40 = 142 (2)
PPSh 41 = 142 (2)
Degtyarev PDM-42 = 150 (5, gold unique)
PPT-27 = 126 (6, premium squad weapon)
MP 28 = 140 (7 magazines)
MP 38 = 160 (5)
MP 40 = 160 (5)
MP 35/I = 160 (5)
Beretta M38 = 120 (6)
Beretta M1918 = 125 (5, premium squad weapon)
Suomi KP-26 = 144 (4, gold unique)
Mkb 35/III = 100 (5, gold unique)
The Berettas and PDT-27 do look like they could each use one more magazine, although two would be fine for the M38 too.
Mkb 35/III has much higher damage than SMG’s in general (9.1) so its lower ammo count makes sense.
and after this we will see soldier running around in tatctical gear with 7 slot for magazines, 5 granade slot, a tactical shovel slot, 2 pistol slot.
the limit on how much and what things you can carry need to exist.
even if i agree that the number of bullet for smg total should be at least 150.
SMG with 6.8 damage does not deserve 150 bullet
the m3a1 4 star has 8.2 dmg and have 150 rounds it dosent seems op to me.
well, it is if you compare it with end level M38 5.7-6.8 damage and 120 bullet

basically MP40 with 40 round mag and only 2 spare mag
even if you dont know it practically, stats wise, it’s shit. not to mention the level requirement compared to grease gun which mean extra few million EXP
im still grindning normandy (axis) but i think the fg42 the mp 43/1 and panther are gonna balance all the early imbalance.
nah the inf weapons are pretty balanced in the early game for normandy
i prefer the grase gun to the mp40 but its subjective, and all the early axis tanks can almost nothing against the jumbo but apart from this nothing much imabalnced.
depends on the grease gun since m3 is terrible while m3a1 is fairly good, while the FNAB-43 and MP40 are really good i would also call the berrata m1918 fairly decent
tha m3 grease gun its not tha bad full star but the a1 is incredibly better, the fnab for me is terrible the slow rate of fire get me killed always.
i believe the FNAB has an rpm that is 10 higher than base m3
yes im talking to the full sttarred versions, the m3 stock is equally bad for the rpm.
sorry meant base m3 as the normal m3 and not m3a1 or field mod m3
BerettaM18 is good after you totally upgrade here you can use here as long as you don’t unlock mp43, you can see it as a fusion between mp35 and zks, however if you like to attack from distance mp40 remains the best
please devs can we have extra ammo by default excluding the ammo bags and the downside would be more weight added.

In the end sooner or later you will reach this level, and when you do it if the team is not brain dead is not even a fight.
