Should heavy MGs be able to ADS only when prone/bipoded?

it’s not just troopers that get them since they’re marked as semi automatic, which means that mortarmen, radiomen, flamers, bomber(class), and engineers get them. and these automatic rifles either hit as hard as BAR, oh look that’s an automatic rifle that’s in the gunner role, or harder than the .45 acp with the firerate faster than the tommy gun and BAR

Minor adjustments here and there. Still, dont see any reason why the automatics that clearly are end game weaponry should be limited.

historical accuracy since things like fg42 was limited to the fallschrimjager as well as being rare, avs was already rare by moscow and wasn’t existent in berlin, and the m2 carbine wasn’t in service in normandy though that is a simple fix by changing the name to m1/m2 since there was converted m1s by d-day but you guessed it not in large numbers

I would say the historical accuracy has taken the arcade / balance way. Which is completely fine.
If it was used, it can be added.

ah well this has been a nice conversation with you, and i hope you have a good day

I feel like enlisted is going through the “arcade” phase like when warthunder first came out

I hope. I really really hope.

That´s nice and all but I don´t rememeber Wehrmacht gunners shooting from the hip while jogging at a pleasant pace being mentioned in the history books. Wich is what I feel like is the biggest problem with LMGs right now. You only start hitting anything once you crouch so that has to stay in but the movement speed while shooting is way to high. While we´re at it might aswell decrease the movement speed while carrying an LMG too. If you want to move fast you need to pull out a knife or sidearm. The BARs and FG42s being an exception.

No, no one shot weapons while running because that would be unrealistic they either stopped to fire like they did in goold old days back in 1800. Shooting while running was considered cowardly and probably prohibited in geneva convention.
No sarcasm.

Its significantly slower already.

If this terrible nerf will be invented how will we decide which is heavy and which is light MG? Sounds like only MG34/42 will get nerfed in this case. Will DP-47 and M1918 also be nerfed? They are pretty OP when moving around. Sounds like it will just bring more unbalace between teams.

maybe add a lvl 5 skill perk that allows to ADS MGs, while remove the ability for regular soldiers, since really trained and “strong” men could indeed do that.

I think ADS for LMG’s should have more recoil impulse so they’re not being used as assault rifles, but obviously not too crazy. There should be more incentive to mount LMG’s, but that’s gonna require Darkflow to fix the shoddy ass mount detection.

Congratulations you got my point.

“Significant” isn´t the word I would use. Gunners also have a 3.5% speed boost by default so it might cause that impression.

you know the BAR Is a battle rifle and not an MG right? yeah it was pushed into an MG role but it was never designed as such which is why it was replaced

This made me chuckle… realism and BFV should never be used in the same sentence

Yeah, your point was viable in 1800 combat.

I would as it is. Obviously since you are asking the LMG users to stand still and require 7 man team to carry lmg we got slightly different pov.

NO.

manfaceaua

well maybe:

What? You trying to tell me that people run around like Rambo hip firing? Not moving increases a soldiers accuracy by a ton. Unless you have an SMG an try to supress the enemy moving while shooting is compleately impractical most of the time.

I have no idea what you´re even try to say here, I just don´t want LMG users to casually walk through buildings mopping the floor with everyone in it. Is it that hard to understand?

Hans doesn’t care about slowly crouching and setting up his mg when enemies are very close, Hans will show the world Rambo isn’t that original.
