Should Enlisted have Viewmodel Customization?

Some games have a setting or in some cases console commands that allows you to customize your viewmodel by moving the model of your weapon to a preset y x z coordination or completely allowing you to change the viewmodels y x z viewpoints to make it so you get more visibility out of your environment or simply give you the option to make your self more acquaintance with the game. This is a great way to customize ones own game, but should Enlisted have such an option?

no. you will just have tryhards abusing those settings to get even slightest advantage. i know it cause i was one of them before.

Expand on this. Can you give some visual representation of this?

Sure, while there are plenty examples of games that do this, like the recent Halo games, i’m gonna take the best examples of Viewmodel customization i know from, which is the Source games, mainly this one from TF2

I’m also just gonna link to a Halo Infite Weapon offset’s work Comparison on how such weapon adjustments work.

If you believe that’s a problem what does that mean about body armor for the Soviets With 10% damage reduction

imagine old m2 sights. then imagine someone customizing them to be usable while 95% of the players use default settings.

also there was one of the commands in csgo that gave you option of hiding gun models (r_drawviewmodel 0), but it was considered cheat cause it gave unfair advantage to those who used it over those who didnt.

maybe read what i wrote in those threads? there is no need to hijack this thread and go OT.

I have and try hards exist so they can take advantage of this too

big think

You mean to tell me that someone could’ve already fixed the M2 sights without me being suspended, and all that is required is a tutorial? Doesn’t sound half bad.

What kind of mods could you do with the weapon’s sights?

Does it affect how the soldiers hold their weapons from the viewpoint of the enemy soldier?

this is not weapon sights. it is moving weapon offset so it doesnt cover half the screen.

Oh, I see what you are saying now

Would be greatly appreciated if you would keep them out of other threads

Blame him MasterGrey

I dont wanna blame anyone but i would appreciate if you wouldnt litter every thread with stuff that doesnt belong there

when certain things go unaddressed and some people bring up a point I can use I’ll use it

I am pretty sure that the devs already know about body armor and beltfed mgs. They just have bigger problems to work with like the broken mm queues and failed steam launch

beltfed mgs is a meme at this point and body armor is a problem

Might be but spamming other topics is not the way to go
