This is pretty much for balancement considering that AP Mines are currently pretty much drop and forget when they actualy take time to set up. Perhaps a 2 or 3 seconde setup time.
It would be nice if we could bury AT mines.
They will have to implement a Mine detector for the Engineer too!

Been musing over an idea of a squad that has some sort of utility vehicle, such as bulldozer or mine flail

they already have a timer, did you ever use mines yourself? the timer is shown after dropping.
the best solution is to give engineers a yellow perk skill that lets them detect mines after looking at their direction for a short amount of time and also to be able to defuse them then (for EXP and EngiPoints of course). this way everyone complaining about mines will start using engineers.
it also promotes team work by engineers checking streets for tanks.
I think he means time to plant it and arm it.
Currently you simply lay it on the ground and it’s good to go.
A more realistic arming process won’t make it so easy to deploy, especially during combat.
I wish we could get bergepanther or other vehicles to help teammates that get stuck in trenches
Sadly the game has too small scale for such vehicles. (Also a bit too butthurt community.)

And I thought taank were primarily designed to overcome trenches in the first place.
Actually last week I managed to cross a trentch with no problems. Pz3 in traktorpant.
Though it looked like I was driving a cardboard box.
Maybe. Still thinking about how to fit it. I can see removing obsticles/mines, player destroyed vehicles and towing being neat and somewhat useful. Just thinking about another more to the point function it could serve in current environment (like being crewed by heavy engineers that can build the bigger 88s or limited vehicle ressupply)

They could be just another version of environmental vehicles.
It would fit the game but not the scale.
You will be deffenceless in the middle of a fight. All you can do is to rely on your teammates to keep you alive (good luck lol).
You will be basically noncombatant. Thus you will hinder your team’s effort to win.
And you can’t convince me that moving 5 things is better than killing 10 enemies on the point.
Also it would very likely take a tank slot. So another hinderance.
Of course I can be mistaken.
Though more likely we will end up like with paras. I also thought they wouldn’t fit the game but devs decided to do trolololo and just delete their bigest weakneses and now they work.
If something doesn’t work, delete it’s downsides. - DF apparently
Actually I wonder how DF would manage SPGs on those clusterfuck maps.
They would have to do next level of reality bending to make them work.
Or go lazy and make them TDs.
Yes well, i also think the scale needs to increase (or revert)
But yes thats why idea is incomplete, it cant just exist to be non combatant. (Thats also why bunker busters with dozer blades are on the table)

Considering the state of game its quite reasonable to not want huge maps.
Depends what do you have in mind.
Some problems may be solved by larger playable area.
Personally I think the game would improve in the long run if it had similar scale to BF or H&G.
