Well only “thing” I can think of it would grant tanks more space to move around.
Which alone isnt exactly enough to justify large maps
BF revolved quite alot around conquest, in 3 & 4 ? In assault / rush / what ever the mod was the maps were narrowed down.
Even in H&G the combat often was around the caps making the “massive” maps rather pointless.
In some maps it granted opportunity to flank APC and in certain maps regardless of the massive map there were just few spots to cross chokepoint such as river.
Even if most area of big maps is not used, at least you have such option. Currently you can either atack the point from 3 direcrions or camp.
Additionally it gives more reasons to use some vehicle clases like DTs or (possible) APCs that are limited by smal maps.
Also problem of GZ camping could be gone (depends on how we imagine the details of spawn system).
Basically it’s all about more gameplay options and more sandboxy gameplay. Current way of playing is very limiting and linear.
And I agree about AI. Though last update was good.

Sure, but considering the current map sizes only a small portition of them is used.
Even currently you can rather easily flank to make radio as combats are pretty much always around cap point.
That I doubt, sure it could decrease it but certain maps where u can literally spam cap from GZ still exists.
Which also makes this game fast paced which I pretty much consider as only option for the game.
Due to AI being absolutely retarded, nonexistent matchmake ( Upcoming MM will be bandage fix for issues )
Back in early moscow, i remember the play area was massive, it was fantastic. The majority of players played no different than now. The battle was in a very contained area. The difference being you had the option of circumventing the contained area if need be.
At least i remember it that way.

Depends on a map.
Some maps are so tiny that radios are in the gz.
Also the game is completelly not suited for flanking with vehicles.
And this is kind of important since “more gameplay options”.
As I’ve said, depends on how we handle this.
It’s pointless to argue about it without details.

I also don’t expect much from upcoming MM but well, when I popose alternatives ppl want to hang me.

I also remember CBT moscow to be somehow bigger even though we have the same maps now.
Trully a mistery.
Maybe it’s because ppl played slower or less meta?

Yes and no, depends much on map.
Biggest issue on flanking with tank is probably the AT weaponry rather than other tanks.
But I dont consider tank play as such important part of the game it would be worth of making massive maps.

Agreed, and as I’ve said before, there aren’t enough on the field as is to usually make much difference. So unless we got mine pouches to increase those numbers, taking even longer to set up is going to be a big no from me.
