Review of beta from Call of Duty 1 Pro

Hi, I’m CRiM, I was a call of duty 1 pro player, I played for Deus Ex Machina one of the top teams in north America, I’ve given this game two long play secession’s now and I’m going to give some suggestions and feed back.

First off the good:
The engine seems quite good high frame-rates looks pretty nice over all, it can be hard to see enemies in windows at 1920 x 1080 I’d say impossible at times and I don’t know if that’s a bug with windows or something but it would be nice if you could actually see people window camping.
The tanks and the game for the most part look and feel pretty promising.

What needs work:
Console controls on pc: you can’t fine tune mouse sensitivity which kinda goes to show that this game was not truly designed to be a pc game. There is no decimal or single digit precision when selecting mouse sensitivity. :frowning: if you want to release a pc fps you have to give pc players the ability to actually select a proper mouse sensitivity for them… now this is starting off really poorly lets continue.

Server browser: the game needs a server browser

hit registry in general was OK, but there was quite a few times where bullets went through people or clipped on walls my sniper bullets even some times felt like they were locking on people when I missed and other times I’d shoot people directly multiple times and nothing would happen.

Movement can get weird near walls you can get stuck or lean through walls there, you can also bunny hop in this game which is not good as it speeds up your movement and everyone ends up jumping around the map like rabbits, cod 1 had this issues early and was patched out.

The BAD!

Self reviving: The self reviving system in this game is hilariously bad, you can simply revive your self from behind cover after being downed, I even had an instance where I downed 5 people in front of me and simply had to give up because they were all self reviving before I could kill any of them its moments like these where you go, oh this developer actually has no idea what they’re doing when it comes to making games. I eventually started head shotting everyone out of pure necessity but it doesn’t fully fix how stupid this gears of war system is that doesn’t work at all in this style game.

The bots: More than a few times bots shot me though grass alphas when I wasn’t visible by any player and I thought to my self that guy must be wall hacking another reason the bot system should be removed from the game “ENTIRELY”

The Squad System: The squad system is really bad it only subtracts from the potential of this game, it makes it feel zergy, bots literally stand in your way when you’re trying to fight for a beginner mode i guess its fine for people learning the maps and controls I’d move the squad system to like a beginner bracket and implement a hard core mode later with hud turned off No bots, Self revive removed only keep team revive even then its questionable. In general the suquad system is soo poorly implemented its probably best to just get rid of it, its the reason I’ll probably never play this game again it feels hollow like a single player experience sure it keeps you in the action more but it honestly just feels like its designed for kids who have never actually played a good quality fps.

in general I was very disapointed with the game, it had a lot of potential and threw it all out the windows for some war thunder like squad upgrading money sink experiance it seems like the development team went full tunnel vision and ignored everything that makes a game good only to have this incredibly poor bot like online experience. Get the servers to 20 v 20 minimum fix the upgrading system to something people actually care about like weapon skins or mild aesthetics or war metals and get this game to its maximum potential. The game is 90% there but absolute ruined by poor design and game play decisions that only appeal to modern casual cell phone gamers. In the current state I do not anticipate this game has much of any potential to do anything other than hang on to a small demographic of people with OCD upgrading a meaningless squad, when high end players can decimate them with even a basic rifle.

That’s all I can think of right now but if more comes up I’ll add to this, as it sits right now there is zero desire for me to play this game, again it feels like I’m playing a very poorly designed single player game.

Current Beta Rating 4/10
Game potential if things are fixed 9/10

ok

Words words words use M&K stop playing on console or leave

Imagine being stuck in 2003.

ok boomer
Bots are the one unique thing this game has and they make for a pretty unique gameplay experience.
And 90% of this is solved with a little thing called “git gud”

I agree with this paragraph, but I would still like to keep the squads because I like crafting my team of trogs. It’s immersive.

Ok well I was top NA 200 players in Batalion 1942 as well, if that means anything.

Did you mean 1944?

It certainly doesnt mean anything whatsoever in this game, dude. The game is old, which means its easier to be “pro”. Not that it matters in a completely different game.

Considering Battalion 1944 was dogshit and has been dead for awhile. Idk how to feel about that claim.
Even if you’re an old man your reflexes should still be good enough to dominate. I’m horrid at FPS and I still top the board the majority of the time.

Regardless I’ve been playing games my entire life, made money playing them and I know what makes a good game, this game lacks even the basic principals that comprise a good game, its thrown it all out the window for a system where bots stand arround in a field like lost puppies feels like I’m playing a bad ghost recon game when it should feel like one of the 10000 multi player games released in the last 20 years that actually have people playing the game… If I wanted to play a game where bots stood in the field like lost puppes I’d play a ghost recon game from 20 years ago.

I can dominate easily the point I’m trying to make is, is the game is very poorly designed from a fundamental game play mechanic perspective, I even learned today there is a perk for 2 second self revive at that point I think all hope may be lost getting through to the development team. Batalion 1944 was not a bad game, the developer just gave up on it when it was in its make or break period and decided to go full gun asthetics when you still couldn’t pick up weapons through map geometry. it was another development failure I literially watched and said was going to happen to the developer him self as it was happening and sure enough he got his shroud money and probably sells real estate now for a living.

Thanks for your feedback! I changed your title to be a bit more relevant to the topic of these forums.
Cheers

Holds no value in a completely different game. So hello stranger.

This is completely related to light exposure. Not resolution.

The game has server selection for NA/EU/EEU.

It does not speed you up. It only saves stamina.

Try using melee.

Stopped reading after this as it seems like someone justifying their newbie behavior by claiming he’s a pro in another game.

Some design decisions are bad, true.
But that isn’t an excuse to not learn to use the game mechanics that are put in place.

Just my 2 cents.

  1. Yes being a top tier player in every fps game I play holds value as I put hundreds of hours into games instead of play casually on my off hours

  2. window exposure is still an issue and in high end game play will be even more of an issues you would know if you were a top tier player

  3. Being able to select your region is not a server browser just like a cellphone connection meter is not an acturate representation of your ping.

  4. Bunny hopping does speed you up, and the fact it saves your stamina is even worse.

  5. I cant use melee when I’m in cover and shooting squads crossing a field again this is not gears of war and shouldn’t emulate it completely different genera.

  6. Yes the game has many poor gameplay decisions implemented I’m glad we can both agree on that.

I can’t melle people when I’m in cover and they are crossing the center of the map, so that answers that,

But you are new to Enlisted. Until you put that time into Enlisted, you will lose out against the experienced players.

Experience in other games will only make it easier to good at this game. It does not instantly make you better at this game than others.

I know it is an issue. I said you misunderstood why it happened.

Then I misunderstood your original post.

Matches cannot be joined after they start. As such, there is no reason to select a specific server.

Maximum movement speed is not higher when bunny hopping compared to knife running and Engineer hammer running is even faster.

If they aren’t that close you can just take your time to pick them off one by one.

Imagine having this overinflated sense of self-worth, Or thinking that your 420 MLG gamer status would influence people’s perception of your statements.

Next time I’d skip the completely irrelevant self-aggrandizing and just initiate an honest discussion.

The game that died right away? Truly remarkable bragging rights.

Very well aware. I’m close friends with an old CoD 1 & 2 pro, who was active in my country’s national circuit at the time. Won quite a few tournaments. I can still find his team’s old stats.

Yours seem to be missing. Odd.

Why is every post here people just angry at me for being a pro player? if you have criticism leave if if not just move along.

Pretty sure it’s a leftover or a product of the battle royale they’ve released a while ago. It shares assets with Enlisted and was supposedly made to test core gameplay. A terrible idea as far as I’m concerned, but I never got into battle royales. I also suspect they had some other reasons to release it, like making a quick buck while the trend is still hot.

Also there actually is a game mode without squads. It unlocks after getting level 3 in any campaign. Except that it still has hidden bots. They even use the same names as players. It sounds like a dumb conspiracy theory but unfortunately it isn’t.

Bots are a bit less obvious now, but during closed beta they were extremely obvious. You’d see full squads of bots armed with exact same weapons run along the same paths in perfect straight lines and then bunch up in the same spots. They were there supposedly to compensate for lack of players, but why they are are still a thing and why they are hidden - I have no idea.
