Revert SMG recoil to Pre-Stalingrad levels

SMG’s had more recoil before stalingrad
Btw, this math is fancy but doesn’t correspond to reality - see my sheet for that

Soviets have the most accurate SMG, box mag PPSh, with a whopping 0.21 dispersion (For comparison most SMGs sit around 0.6-0.8). Not to mention ON AVERAGE, Soviet SMGs have less recoil PER SHOT, but feel heavier due to rof.

Use this, read “Actual Recoil”, you’ll notice that Soviet SMGs are actually easier to control on average

Are you telling me that i got the stats are wrong?

Totally wrong yep
the only “problem” with the ppsh is its recoil dir of 0.45 cuz it makes horizontal a bit more random, but even then it’s not really an issue because the gun itself is incredibly easy to control

And? Soviets have two and the Fedorov is the best AR anyways.
Americans have none but lets Soviets bitch that their WW1 Super Weapon has only sidegrade to pick from.

While this is the part where anyone would go “You should have looked at the spreadsheets”, the fact there are hidden recoil multipliers and such should’ve been visible in the first place for anyone to properly make discussions regarding balance.

Shoot at bursts. The soviet smgs are literally the most accurate smgs. The high rof gives them more recoil if you just spray mindlessly.

That’s why I don’t study stats not very extensively. And just judge based on my own ingame experiences.

If a gun doesn’t suit you, just use a different one. (Unless larping is what you want) Problem solved. Soviets do have so many good assaulter weapons.
The numbers will just eat away at your mind and stress you out, not worthy at all.

PPSh-41 Box:
Vertical recoil: 8
Horizontal: 4
Dispersion: 0.21
Ammo: 35
Reload: 2.4/1.9
RPM: 1150

MP40:
Vertical recoil: 8
Horizontal: 3
Dispersion: 0.70
Ammo: 32
Reload: 2.1/1.7
RPM: 570

So unless -1 horizontal recoil and 0.2s faster reload somehow ourweight more than 3,5 times better accucary and 2 times more RPM, PPSh is better.

@Euthymia07 so can we please have the REAL stats shown in the game? Or will devs still pretend it’s somehow better to give us fake ones?

Even kiraly with higher recoil values can full auto ppl to long range.
Not exactly effective, but can be done.

Well this isnt exactly a realistic game just in case if you havent noticed.

Fedorov is the best AR
Americans have none
WW1 Super Weapon

I’m not even going to debate this.

Wow. You actually do care about the spreadsheet?
Impressive.

Fairly certain I already used it replying to you in other threads.

And still liking a dude that cleary does not use the spreadsheet to call Russian SMGs uncontrollable and bad because he supports your claim that Russian SMGs are uncontrollable… because… stats…
Classic.

I clearly quoted the part in my reply that I agreed with.
However, I need your permission before liking anyone’s posts unless they post the Enlisted resources spreadsheets, now?
What is even your point in replying to me about this?

WW1 generals calculating that sending 3 consecutive waves of unsupported infantry directly into MG nests will end the war by Christmas.

Average dispersion for Soviet campaign smgs: 0.64 with the ppsh, .71 without.

Average dispersion for German campaign smgs: 0.70

Much better?

I’ve been playing a lot of Soviets lately and I’ve been loving their small arms. I even managed to put the ppd-34 to good work: it turns out that using some trigger control does wonders. I just don’t see the problems you guys are trying to call out, and I’m on console, so hard-mode over here.

Kiraly has lower combined recoil than PPSh-41 (acording to ingame stats that are probably false) and isn’t horizontally imbalanced so the gun benefits from the -40% vertical recoil perk while the PPSh-41 must have -30% horizontal to even stand a chance. (Kiraly also has less damage drop off)

The German SMGs seem to have realistic recoil, why not the Soviets?
