Yeah, IF the maps were bigger and not cluttered with crap all over the streets.
But then we prob. end up with sucky infantry matches instead, and sniper nests all over.
That… or more players per battle.
But all of this, is just dreaming atm…

what about dont replace nothing and add pershing when progression rework hits live?
what i mean as dont replace, because there are people (like me) that like the hellcat , and could give it a spin now and then.

The T26 was a prototype sent for wartime testing.
The Normandy Campaign is the period when this tank was still being tested in the USA.
It could be added when the Ardennes Campaign or the fights in West Germany will be added to the game.

There are no more campaigns.
There are supposed to be armies like in war thunder if I understand the intentions of the creators.
But it will affect tiers and eras. And if a given map like Moscow 1941 doesn’t put you on it with a weapon of a later period.
What should balance the game.
In addition, there should also be a division into tiers so that new players do not get into battles where they fight with fully equipped with the best equipment troops.
No campaigns ? But there are two new campaigns planned in the 2023 roadmap. If M26 must be added then only in Ardennes or Korean War.

Campaigns. Probably, after the change, these will be theaters of war that determine the maximum equipment level of units.

well, the Pershing was basically a beefed up Panther tank from its performance.
both the Panther and the Pershing would basically knock each other out on first hit, I can however imagine the Tigers 88 to bounce on a Pershing.
“balance wise” there is nothing that speaks against adding this vehicle, yet the fact that high velocity guns like the Panthers 7.5cm and the Firefly’s 17 pounder underperform a lot, would make me also think that the 90mm gun could suck for what ever reason.
The equivalent of the T26 is the Tiger II.
The fireflay sherman has poor armor because he’s a sherman, but he has a strong cannon. Historically, this tank could take on a tiger and a panther at distances well over 1km.
Again, im not an expert but this is taken from the Wiki (The KingTiger is the Tiger 2 btw).
Tiger II has a much stronger gun and much stronger armor than the pershing, it is much more comparable to Tiger I and Panthers.
Tho, one has to admit that at the end of the war, the US used advanced ammo that made Pershings capable of taking out Tiger IIs

Bold you you to assume they would give the Pershing HVAP or even APCBC and not give the solid shell training ammunition.

The Tiger2 in game is the p version which has turret armor that are not that strong.
Tiger1 and panthers is weaker than Pershing in terms of overall frontal armor.
Pershing main gun is better than tiger 1 and can easily pen tiger 1 while tiger 1 can only pen Pershing on some small weak spot.
The Pershing BR in WAR Thunder is more similar to tiger2p compare to tiger1 and panthers.
In conclusion tiger 2p is stronger than Pershing but it is still more comparable to Pershing than Pershing to tiger 1 and panther.

As described there was the M3 90mm Gun mounted in the M26 Pershing. This was for dealing with the Tiger 1
And then there was the T15E1 90 mm Gun mounted in the T26E1-1 Pershing. - This was made to deal with the Tiger 2/King Tiger
It can deal with tiger 1 doesn’t mean it can’t deal with tiger2p lol.
Super Pershing will be comparable to tiger 2h.
