Replace the M18 with the M26 Pershing (Normandy)

The M18 feels like a step down.

I think it would make much more sense that the allied forces get a M26 Pershing as their final tank, with the 90 mm M3 gun.

The 90 mm M3 gun of the Pershing, was similar to the German 88 mm KwK 36 used on the Tiger I…

The Wiki i linked says 44 tho

The Pershing did not see action till early in 45, February I think.

But the game does crazy stuff all the time, including Vehicles and other kit that did not see service in many of the battles we have maps for.

I think the argument could be made that having late war stuff in the game early waters down the idea of having late war or early war distinctions, but i think the game is moving away from to one kind of big mash up of kit anyway when they do away with the campaigns as we know them now.

So maybe we will see He 162’s and Pershing’s on Normandy maps some day.

This first shipment of Pershings arrived in Antwerp in January 1945.

Im not an expert, but ill take your word for that.

Yeah, i dont think the M18 and the M4A3E2 Jumbo were deployed on DDay too.

M18 yes, but no 76 mm Shermans of any kind till July/Augast as I recall.

I want the Pershing.

It would probably be at br of tiger2 for germans… Since axis already has it in Berlin and will be usable vs USA with next war thunder conversion…

Then yes, they shouldn’t replace m18, but ADD a Pershing as another unlock.

The M26 did not take part in operations in Normandy.
The tank entered the European theater of operations at the end of the third quarter of 1994.

But getting the M18 after the M4A1 (W) 76 makes absoluteley no sense. The M18 have the same gun, but open top.

Thats not true, here is a video of a Pershing fighting in Germany in 1945

Problem with the m18 is that the maps are not designed for it. It was a shoot and move type of tank with its speed. Normandy maps are just hills/debris/ crap to get stuck on

the fact that the campaign system will go nowhere soon… it could be entered to the game.

It does not fit for Normandy. It should be added but in the Ardennes campaign.

You obviously have no reading comprehension.
Your ears are dirty too.

The narrator himself talks about 1945.
The T26 entered combat as the Allies pushed the Rhine River line.

And the river Rhine is not in Normandy.

historical accuracy flushed down the toilet already, so we can go all out (but still i hope not to see the Japanese defending the Reichstag from soviets, and such shit)

For the 3rd time in this post, there also were no Jumbos on DDay. And i also Said 1945 in GERMANY…

I said all 3 things you point out.

(and you say that i have no reading comprehension.) you are a joke sir.

There will be Pershing against Tiger II, not Tiger I

It would…

IF the Hellcat had it’s real uncapped speed, and maps allowed better flanking maneuvers (larger)…

Then, trust me, the m18 would shine. Much more than a slower sherman.

Alas… speed is artificially capped, and maps create artificial funnels. It doesn’t do this beautiful machine justice.
