Repairing vehicles from the inside

well it sound nice but i gotta try it to see how good it is

Why it should be stationnary if someone can repair the vehicule at the exterior if the vehicule moving?

But thing is:

Adam contradicts himself. First he says it’s a complete unnecessary change since it will make no difference. And then he correct his statement and say it will benefit toxic grey zone tankers.

I don’t know. Like I said, personally I dislike this feature. But that’s since I’m play infantry 90 % of the time, and hate tanks. But I hope everyone in here who cares about the game is big enough to see beyond personal interests.

This is small qol-tweak that enhances a newly implemented system. It’s not game breaking.

These changes will not make that big of difference when it comes to “the tank problem” that you’re adressing.

It would instead be better if they instead implemented that point-system from the mech-event, where a player need to earn battle-xp to be able to spawn a tank.

Cuz I agree, tanks shouldn’t dominate in an first and foremost infantry-focused game.

Lmao. In bigger picture it truly does not change anything.

But it is clearly more beneficial to campers than to active players. Not in significant manner tho.
Why?

This new system is overall fail. I like the new lenses filter tho.

Let’s move on. I don’t think this small topic is that something we should argue about ; )

We have no clue about the resources/time spent on this:

maybe it was almost nothing …

I’d say that buffing tanks even more beyond their current state isn’t for the game’s best interest. Breech-blocking was a viable strategy for dealing with heavier tanks, and now that’s no longer an option since they can just scoot back and repair from the safety of their tank, instead of having to risk being pushed while outside their vehicle.

I see a lot of people say use battle points, but the way score is currently calculated it will just favor the first person to get in a tank/plane since they get easy assists in vehicles. I’d prefer to see player-specific cooldowns as well so once a player dies in a vehicle, they can’t pull out another vehicle to spam HE in for a bit and have to play infantry.

Infantry need some serious love in this game from the devs, instead of constant vehicle additions with heavier and heavier armor and more powerful guns.

If I was driving a Tiger or a Sherman
I would love this update
Because the enemy’s 75MM gun (Japanese tank gun has low performance) can basically only attack the barrel from the front
I just need to fix the turret in the car and shoot that little bastard out front.

This is a necessary improvement, getting out of the tank to repair gun ring was absurd. Remember that before the manual module repair updated, we could repair everything from one spot. Repairing inside modules from the inside is only logical.

Total speculation. But anyway, even if it only took an afternoon, it wasn’t worth it.
If only because the previous system was so much transparent and straightforward.
You saw a tank with a destroyed cannon. And until you saw it go hide behind the corner or the crew jump out of it. You knew it wasn’t a threat to you.

Now you know nothing. You don’t know what to expect, and at any moment it could become a threat again.
I don’t see how this is contributing to healthy gameplay.

This system is a failure. And the worst part is how irrelevant it is.

Lovely! Good idea with the choice wheel, this will be handy and quick to use :ok_hand:

Otherwise why give you better guns?
Isn’t it just for you to beat the opponent into a monkey?

This is a war-style game. It’s normal to have planes and tanks.
You should use technology and thinking to bridge the gap
Rather than learning from the Germans or Western feminism who protested against trench shotguns

Frankly, I don’t think a realistic system of repairing vehicles part by part is appropriate for the game.
If Enlisted was a game that could be played slowly like Squad or Arma, this system would be immersive and good.
In reality, however, Enlisted is a very fast-paced game, and repairing each part of the vehicle is just inconvenient.
Basically, I have never tried to use a vehicle long enough to make repairs. Mostly because if it is damaged enough to need repair, it will die soon after that.
If the crawler tracks are destroyed, you cannot escape to safety, and if the coaxial machine gun is destroyed or the turret is destroyed, you will not be able to deal with the infantry around the tank. If you’re being flanked by infantry, it will be difficult for anyone but light tanks to run away unless they have friendly infantry to help them.
Since the crew always disembarks at a fixed point and in the same direction (there should be a number of escape hatches, but the player cannot choose the escape position), the crew cannot deal with him, for example, if only one player is waiting behind the tank with his gun ready.
If the whole crew gets off at once and is lucky enough to turn around while he is killing the bot, they will be able to kill him, but, well, it’s almost impossible.
The ability to repair from inside the car would solve some of these problems, but the game is still a half-hearted mix of realistic and casual, and there are still many aspects of the game that are more annoying and pointless than fun.

What does the developer want the game to be? What is the long-term vision? I would like to hear that.
Are you really doing development with any intention?

Yes, the original system was so much superior to current one.

I literally asked for this, right after the repair-from-the-outside system was introduced. I hated being eliminated just because I had to jump out in the middle of the road to repair my gun ring.

Well, I was referring to this new system overall.

Now they’ve made it even more arcade-ish than the original system was. It’s unnecessarily complex and it isn’t transparent in any way.

The more I think about it, the more I hate it.

Dude what are you even on about?

Higher-caliber HE and larger payloads make the infantry experience exclusively worse. Please tell me how “thinking” will stop a P-47 from HVAR’ing initial spawns in Pacific, or will stop a King Tiger from sitting 100m+ in the grey zone on D-Day or Ardennes maps (same for Jumbo in pacific)

Infantry have no viable counters in those situations. They are currently little more than the chaff for vehicles to farm - especially on defense. Greyzone camping and plane cycling requires zero actual game skill and needs to be rebalanced. The last thing we need is to have to take M9 bazookas against a Jagdtiger or Type 4 rockets against a Super Pershing.

In my opinion, the points system will only allow inefficient monkeys and parasites to occupy the vehicle.
Use the weakest tank and hide in the safest position for a useless attack
This is a behavior that poisons the gaming environment

It’s better to change it to a KPI system
Add countdown timer to tanks and planes
You must complete certain indicators to continue fighting.
Good players can keep driving
Parasites cannot poison friendly units.

Please, tell the devs that the test server has a lot of issues:

[Test server] Machine guns named as “Primary or secondary weapon”: Community Bug Reporting System

[Test Server] Game tell u to repair the vehicle despite you cant: Community Bug Reporting System

The above two are critical to the new repair mechanic

This affects tanks that do not have sufficient penetration capabilities
Such as Sherman
They can only damage the barrel but cannot penetrate the tiger

yea that true tbh the OG system was superior (not saying it OP or whatever tho)

sorry idk what happen there somehow it duplicate my comment
