Guns can overheat, except those held by aircraft and soldiers.
Overheating in itself is a realistic and immersive element of the game. However, the game overheats at unrealistic and senseless speeds.
For example, the M2 machine gun on the LVT I recently purchased, a $30 vehicle, heats up to the point of being impossible to fire after 5 seconds of continuous fire, rendering it unusable for more than 10 seconds. Is this gun made of gallium?
Perhaps this is some kind of “game balance” intended by the developers, but APCs and light tanks rely on machine guns for their combat ability and their firepower should be a threat to infantry.
The current performance of the machine gun may be able to stop one squad, but if two or three squads appear in front of it at the same time, it is impossible to deal with them.
At the very least, they should be able to direct and sustain strong firepower in the direction that the vehicle’s machine gun is facing. Even with only a machine gun, the vehicle should have the influence to be able to wipe out the infantry squad and force them to choose another route.
Light tanks/armored vehicles in lower tiers are not placeholders until they unlock medium or heavy tanks.
While they are not suited for tank combat, they have the most nimble movement speed of all tanks and the ability to move through narrow spaces, which should be useful in antiinfantry battles. Just as the M3 Stuart was a “jack-of-all-trades” in the historical Pacific War.
Why not remove the overheating from their machine guns and make them more usable?
