Remove kill cam but let the player know if it was a bot or player

Literally as the title suggests. Remove the kill cam, but let the player know if it was a bot or player that got you. That last bit can be done in the kill feed like WaspX (bot) - insert player name. The purpose for letting the player know if it was a bot is so we can more accurately identify bot or player bull-crappery and potential issues.

Nope, kill cam is anti camping mechanism. It’s good that it’s in the game.

I also disagree.

It is good to know from where you get shoot. Anything else would lead to frustration.

A sniper needs to move sometimes

agree a kill cam makes zero sense in a game like that, not just because of snipers but in general.

Rising Storm Vietnam for instance, no kill cam, TTK is as close or faster than on Enlisted, pretty maddening game for sure. You need patience of steel for it.

I’d say, choose kill cam or every round being a tracer, not both. It feels very much like hand-holding for the lowest skilled players, and you can’t get better when your hands are being held.

Kill cam is unrealistic and stupid.

Planes and artillery lead to frustration. Snipers can be countered without an arcadish kill cam.

kill cam is very good option,to not get spamed,to notice no fairplay players etc.

I was play Day of infamy long time ago game is similar to this but no bots,no squad system.
In that game no hud no crosshairs no killcam, very very had to play it

okay that is a very good point, kill cam does indeed help identify cheaters.
Guess lets keep it, I’m all for it after reading that : )

I think we both can agree that all of that can lead to frustration.
It is a bit overconfident to speak for others and say “no you are wrong, THAT is not leading to frustation”.

And with that in mind, I should have written “Anything else could lead to frustration.”

As I’ve replied in another thread. Killcam is important for multiple reasons.
One is that it helps new players to learn and understand the map. They see where you shoot them from, now they know that it’s possible to get to that spot or that you should expect someone to be camping at that spot.
Second is that it makes player flow on the map more dynamic. When your squad gets wiped by mg while crossing the street, you get some information for your next spawn as to how to act. This can funnel enemy team into a different direction much faster, or force them to go more on defensive.
Third, I play with MGs a lot, typically a mid/long range from a prepared position. Without killcam it would be OP as hell. Right now I have to deal with people who sick revenge and occasionally some tanks that bother with protecting infantry, which is fair and I have multiple MGs in a squad anyway. But without a killcam it would be reduced to being spotted only by tracer, which means nothing if position is prepared and even spotting by tracers is difficult when MG is on the flank.
Forth, without killcam I can park a tank somewhere in the forest for half a round and happily camp with no repricaution.

Yeah, there are some spots where you can farm kills with MG and other team will have a hard time doing anything about that. In Red Orchestra it was very similar. But as there are more players on the map in RO/RS, someone will figure to set a smoke screen and you eventually get figured by traces and sound anyway. Killcam just makes this process faster. At the end the result is the same, the difference is how many people will be mad and frustrated before someone finally puts that mg down.

I personally think that snipers specifically should have the killcam removed. What’s the point in having a squad dedicated to taking enemies out from range without getting spotted when they automatically get spotted when they kill someone?

Snipers aren’t particularly powerful, have smaller squads, and generally don’t earn a whole lot of XP. The least they could have is the ability to do their intended job.

Shoot and move
Which is what they’re supposed to do

Even when they change position, it’s not like there are 100 good sniper positions relatively close to each other. The options are often quite limited. Revenge killing snipers is a bit too easy for my taste. Maybe limit their killcam to only on squad wipe, instead of on each individual kill?

->Have a squad that literally cannot be countered if they hide well and do their job.
Yeh no. Ive played enough Heroes and Generals to know what a no killcam sniper is like. Its ZERO. FUN.

I’m of the mentality of fuck snipers full stop
They ruin every other fps
As it stands now the only game I can say they aren’t complete cancer is Enlisted with or without the killcam
Without it just adds another layer of frustration for the person on the receiving end

9/10 you’re absolutely fine staying where you are, even with the killcam. But the obvious solution is to move if you have to.
It’s what I do when I play sniper and it works out p well

If I die to a sniper, I literally just spawn, turn around, and countersnipe him straight away. As it stands, there is no way of getting top score with just sniping, unlike with mortar squads, which are way harder to counter than snipers.

Snipers with squad-death-only killcams would still be easier to counter than mortars.
