I don’t think they need to be removed, but do need some changes. Things I would like to see:
- Make it so shooting them down before they drop counts for more points than if they are shot down after they drop
- If they are shot down pre drop: the timer instantly resets for non bomber raid artillery.
- If they are shot down: it should reduce their numbers on subsequent call ins. (IE if you shoot down 3 … then the next one called only has 2 planes, As such if you shoot them all down, you block for the rest of the game). Each team being separate.

Speaking as a fighter pilot, right now they are only a delicacy for finishing events
Make them stronger planes so it’s harder for the enemy team to shoot down

I was using them in tunisia confrontation, and I found them to be quite useful, like, enemy gathers in a point, bombers arrive to clear the place out, and our team takes the point.
Now, yeah, against organized opponent who actually uses planes/engineers, it is indeed less effective and more of a waste. But there are situations where it is useful.
After all, one shouldn’t be sitting on the same squad all battle, and calling in bombers is an opportunity to use the squad how it is intended to be used. It resets the timer, as new squad can be picked.
Another sad example. Someone calls the bombers. 2 of them are intercepted (+530 score for enemy) and 3 are dropping bombs on an empty field, because team is already capturing next objective.
Bomber should be reworked
- They need a better payload
- They need to don’t share their timer with other support action
- They need have two additional bomber in the formation (optional)
- They need have an AI escorts fighter because are to easy to kill
- They need to arrive faster but need more time for be called again

I agree. Bombers should be reworked to both benefit the team as a whole and the individual who called the bombers in. The timer should be limited around the team as a whole. If John calls in a bombing run, he can NOT call another in for 8 minutes (or insert time restriction) and the team can call another bombing run in 4 minutes. It prevents spamming by the whole team, and prevents an individual from spamming. Artillery strikes should have a team cooldown of 4 minutes and an individual cool down of 6 minutes.
In reality it would allow the artillery to feel much more “realistic*”. What I mean by realistic that in reality, artillery crews would have to load the cannons, refill their on hand supply of shells and munitions, while also recalibrating for their new designated strike zone.
The artillery call should last an extra 5 seconds, while ALSO being more powerful (buffed).
Airstrikes, and Bombing runs should be buffed and brought back to being a devastating, effective and DEADLY resource.
Buff Arty and bombing runs. Add MORE bombers to the bombing run and remove the artificial “flak” explosions. Replace them with better and more realistic flak explosions (different altitudes and MORE/LARGER explosions.

The most ridiculous thing about bombers - people that intercept them gain so many points for it, that it isn’t rare to see those pilots on top of the scoreboard, despite them doing practically nothing for the team.
I think you meant they remove 1-2 enemy players from CAS/CAP for about 2 minutes. Thats the actual benefit of bombers.
Im all for buffing them further personally. Give radio squad even more reason to live!
I was always promoting in the old times that shooting down the planes should matter as more dropped planes would increase their call-in time by x-seconds.
That way, it would reward people for shooting them down in terms of “tactics” while still being lethal if not being taken care of on the ground, being able to respond better against enemy fighters, as well for morons who call them when the enemies have air superiority.
Yet, they shouldn’t be flying AA snipers.

Not necessarily. Would be good for events BUT more likely to split the current score now, but across more planes
Yep actually use bomber runs often enough personally, even have a few Tiger kills with radio squad.
They work, just time enough to look at them in terms of buffs.
Or, taking out bombers reduces the amount of bombers for the next bombing run, which then slowly regenerates
If then bombers would be potent enough, people would not only want to take them out - pilots would also actively try to protect their bombers.
But yeah, as long as bombers are terribly weak, the entire mechanic is pointless.
