With the game coming to steam soon, the new player experience is something really important. ‘Place better rally points’ is fine to say but often its not the rally point builder who is punished, rather it is the player spawning. This is meant to be a game after all and what’s fun should be considered and this is not a mechanic that new players will find fun imo.
Until some smart guy comes, flanks and mines your rally then that argument doesn’t work. Unless you put in near your greyzone which at that point it is almost useless to have.
Nobody here should get free lunch, not the tanks that can sit in spawn and shoot into the objective.
Spawnkilling is bad, it’s not good behavior; it’s allowed only by design and 100% not as intended.
Oh well, they will get better. Is normal to don’'t understand everything on your first game.
Well then here’s a better bloody option how about we just ban rally points from being placed near the objective by at least 100 to 200 meters and then no one will get mined
No they will most likely get discouraged, the only players that employ this method are vets who could care less for new player experience.
Listen I don’t care where your morals lie, don’t fuck up new player experience and justify toxic/exploitative behavior that will ultimately push away new players.
They will most likely play another game if they get discouraged enough.
If the problem is for new player just put the mine at higher rank, no?
At what rank is the mine rn?
The new player experience is important in all but condemning the high level players to respawn near the objective without some sort of catch is not fair
Literally the root of the problem is spawnkilling, and you are over here making solutions that are way over the top. The easiest simplest solution is to not allow people to spawn in a mined rally.
Sorry if this is your preferred method of getting kills, but really I am not sorry if it is and I hope they smarten up and take a proactive than reactive approach about this.
I will put it beside the rally then. If there is a distance limit added, I will just use two AP mines on an Antitank mine, and so on and so on.
You can have it for all ranks but you should actually be seeing it at BR 3 and 4 and 5
You have my respect sir, as that is not spawnkilling. They can walk 10 feet at least.
The catch is you can destroy the rally point if it is too close? I don’t quite understand what you mean by condemming them to spawn close to the objective sorry.
The solution I think should be a 0.5 second spawn invincibility, which won’t protect you from getting shot much but would protect from a mine.
If you could see my typical train mode match you would be so angry at me, lol
I made a post already about this issue suggesting that mines become a specialized equipment for ENGINEER/DEMOLITION class. This will solve mine spam for sure.
It’s my preferred way to drain ticket when I’m stuck being defender most of the time and no one should be allowed to spawn near the Objective without a catch
You keep saying that and you’re gonna ring the bell for guardian Reaper to appear in his mind pouch topic will become a thing
This is why we have greyzone problems lol… As for the whole mine rally point thing, I dont care either way, but I say thats what they get for being lemmings.
Well, the same could be said about a tank camping the spot or aircraft dropping bombs, it’s not nice to be insta-wiped without firing a shot in retaliation, but such is game. The problem for people is that mining a rally is low effort, but high reward activity. The minimum for it to works is: find the rally>>press 6>>press LMB>>skedaddle. But personally, I would leave it be, it’s pretty rare for what I gathered. One thing I would change is to make mines actually take effort and time to plant, as currently you can barge into a room with a rally and drop a mine, before anyone realizes what happens and could try to stop you.

Definitely annoying to be the victim, but it’s probably the most satisfying aspect of the game for me to squad wipe using AP mines on beacons.
If they’re going to actually fix something in the game, I’d rather see them add obstacles/hills to prevent tank bros from camping a half-mile outside of the battle zone.
