It is very frustrating to spawn at a spawn point just for it to be trapped and to isntantly lose a whole squad and have to respawn again. It is just a form of griefing / XP farming that doesn’t contribute towards gameplay or fun.
Then pay attention to map and rallies
no, it’s silly just remove it
do not justify spawn killing
From a authenticity perspective, this requirement is reasonable
However, I think placing AP mines next to rally points can achieve a similar effect.
Some people even stack AP and AT mines to achieve greater explosion effects, so It is hard to ban spawn killing.
you cannot spawn near the objective without paying some sort of price and nothing is free
Then build the rally elsewhere or mine your own rally
And trust me you haven’t seen what a real spawn killing abuse looks like in this game, cuz in some map I can legit sit my tank next to a ammo refill point and delet my enemy team the moment they spawn as long as they don’t bomb me with a plane
I am looking at you Ardennes
ok let me put that differently
why won’t you just shoot it?
Delayed gratification, why shoot now and only get 55 points when you can plant a mine and get not only the 55 for the rally, but also anywhere between 90 and 270 points for squad wipe, plus the additional boon of delaying one enemy by extra 10s + however long they need to get to point from other spawn points.
This is a team game, you cant protect all your allied Rallies especially since there are paratroopers that can spawn behind your rallies - while also needing to push.
Spawnkillings like that are unreasonable and punish players that made no mistake other than simply spawning.
that was the mistake.
Anyway, easy solution is to put your own AP mine on friendly radio.
I’d suggest more points for destroying a rally then.
yeah that must be pretty great experience for the victim player
The correct answer is to pay attention and mine your own rally every time.
But the Steam release will attract a lot of new players soon, and they will find this and be very upset, and of course, that will be reflected in the reviews along with many other flaws.
In my opinion, it is a negative way to play.
So I agree to eliminate the possibility of doing so.
Build better Rally Points. Consider AP Mines negative reinforcement to do better
You don’t have to protect them, just pay better attention. Which one’s constantly under fire? Which one’s probably too far up and easy to sabotage? Which one had a dude with an FG 42 rushing towards it?
Build better ones yourself for you to use and not get trapped in
Honestly - I am doing this to make you uncomfortable.
Let’s say you are in the favored camp and you have 3 or 4 rallies and you are sure you are going to win. But how would you feel if every rally had a land mine in it?
You would either quit the game, look for some pervert to mine the rallies for revenge, or stop respawning from the rallies.
Then while you are confused, we will take the base or fortify it.
This is how I go about making the enemy uncomfortable and confused.
Why would that ridiculous cat and mouse game be necessary? Just remove this nonsense.
I personally disagree for a couple of reasons:
-
You should be setting up at least a couple mines of your own in order to protect the rally point. If you don’t, that is on you.
-
Personally, I set mines on rallies but for a slightly different reason than others.
- If you just simply destroy the rally point, the player that built it gets the notification of its destruction, and they therefore know where you are.
- In comparison, if you set a mine on it, it delays that notification going to the player, while still removing the threat. Giving you time to move and find other rallies or get into a flanking position.
Is not griefing, is simply the best way to destroy a rally and rob some ticket.
The only justification which ignores the fact that its spawnkilling that these guys are pointing out is that the rally was poorly placed and hence skill issue.
Completely ignoring the fact that a new player will spawn in that rally once it becomes available and get spawnkilled and 100% get discouraged. Does that new player know there was a mine there? Yes maybe no, either way they know they got spawnkilled.
The people here justifying spawnkilling are using pathetic excuses as it’s skill issue to justify toxic and exploitative behaviour.
When it comes to this topic there’s no such thing as a free lunch and if you place the rally point near the objective expect it to be mined and if you don’t want it to happen place it 100 meters away or 200 and you’ll be fine
