Release The Metrics

Devs have done a great job, recently, in taking in community feedback and applying that to content and the roadmap at large. I think it’s time we take it a step further.

Release game metrics to the community. Let us see the numbers. How many of us are playing Enlisted on a given day? How many playing which BRs? How many actually desert matches? Which factions/weapons/squads see the most play?

Help us help you. Game metrics would allow community members to give more informed and detailed feedback, as well as further the feeling of not only our print on the direction of Enlisted, but also the feeling of clarity from the Devs.

I want to see how often each nation builds rallies/apcs separated for each BR.

IDK about for each BR specifically, but in general my guess would be :

  1. Germany. (Only because they probably have the largest player base, so they probably have the largest pool of rally point builders / APC users)
  2. Japan. (Japan has the most skilled player base, if they had the same number of players as Germany they would be number 1 in rally building and APCs)
  3. US.
  4. Soviets. (Soviets are deathly allergic to holding the hammer)

tbf, that data wont help community give any feedback. it is certainly interesting to know how many players there are and if playerbase is increasing or decreasing, but what exactly is the feedback? last update sucked, so players are leaving? BR popularity depends on grind status of player, so lower BR will always be “more popular” than higher BR for majority of playerbase, cause majority of playerbase are either casual players or players just testing the game to see if they like it.

if you want to know data, you can get lot of it yourself by scrapping replay info page. i did few stat analysis that way

data from august-november 2024

New stat analysis
Concurrent player number

didnt do extensive analysis on my last one like i did in the one before, but it is possible to get a lot of data from it.

data from december 2023

Enlisted stats- postmerge edition

There are some other areas where the metrics would help make more informed suggestions, but I was thinking especially about those calling for changes to matchmaking. How matchmaking changes impact the game are largely influenced by player counts, both overall and in the separated queues.

As an example, examining a metric like “what % of desertions are in what game mode, on what maps, and in what BR ranges” help us give more direct feedback to the source of Enlisted’s problem rather than giving an all-too-general suggestion like “punish deserters!”.

If the community sees that, for example, a huge percentage of desertions happen in the Assault GameMode then more community members would offer up solutions to making the Assault GameMode more enjoyable. Which would be an immensely better circumstance than having a community full of people who think the answer is to punish players for not having fun in a battle.

Yeah, would be great to see. Squad usage impacts that a lot as well. Less engineer squads, less rallies, would be my bet. Also APCs being rare in lower BRs, despite being a BR2 vehicle, because it’s hard for newer/F2P players to justify using that squad slot for it.

Spoiler

maps highlighted in orange include newbie MM, so data is polluted by players who dont know maps. also stats are generally polluted cause of big presence of prematch bots.

btw devs are aware of all this data, they just dont care.

How deeply ironic
