Reinforcements at the Invasion of Normandy

Reinforcements are arriving soon, commanders! In the upcoming major update, the “Invasion of Normandy” campaign will receive 3 new campaign levels with squads, weaponry and vehicles for each side. We will also introduce premium squads for the support specialties.

27TH CAMPAIGN LEVEL

Attacker pilots come with a special starter perk with which they can control heavy aviation classes, such as dive-bombers, attackers and strike aircraft. This squad will be in high demand due to the effectiveness of their aircraft against ground targets.

USA | 373RD FIGHTER GROUP, 412TH FIGHTER SQUADRON

Squad specialization: attacker pilots. There may be up to 3 units in this squad, 1 of which with the “Attacker pilot II” specialization.

New aircraft

Republic P-47D-28 Thunderbolt

Republic P-47D-28 Thunderbolt — a strike aircraft with high speed, rugged design, and great frontal armament consisting of eight 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine guns. Its firepower will allow it to keep supporting ground forces even after the bomb and rocket weaponry is exhausted.

Historical information about the squad

This group has been patrolling the beach and providing air cover for other units across the entire Normandy landing operation, using the versatility of their aircraft to keep the skies and ground clear for the advancing friendly infantry.

GERMANY | JAGDGESCHWADER 1 III./JG1

Squad specialization: attacker pilot. This squad consists of 1 soldier with the “Attacker pilot II” specialization.

New aircraft

Fw 190 A-8

The Fw 190 A-8 — a fighter that proved to be a reliable " Workhorse" for the Luftwaffe. The aircraft was used as an aerial interceptor but could even perform the role of a ground attack aircraft if necessary. The A8 model received even more powerful frontal armament, consisting of four 20-mm MG 151 cannons and two 13-mm MG 131 machine guns.

Historical information about the squad

When the Allied landing at Normandy began, the squadron was quickly relocated to France to combat the advancing allied forces, engaging aircraft and ground troops alike.

28TH CAMPAIGN LEVEL

Flametroopers are essential for countering enemy manpower entrenched in buildings and bunkers - in places too dangerous to siege with conventional weaponry alone. In these situations, the flametrooper is perfect for causing panic and destruction in such cramped spaces.

USA | 90TH INFANTRY DIVISION, 358TH INFANTRY REGIMENT

Squad specialization: flametrooper. There may be up to 7 units in this squad, 2 of which with the “flametrooper” specialization.

New weapons

The M2 flamethrower

The M2 flamethrower — an evolution of the M1 model, with a longer firing range and higher damage potential. Compared to the previous model, it also uses up its fuel capacity slightly faster.

Historical information about the squad

In April 1944 the regiment arrived in England as part of the 90th Infantry Division to train and prepare for the Invasion of Normandy.

GERMANY | 352ND INFANTRY DIVISION, 352ND PIONEER BATTALION

Squad specialization: flametrooper. There may be up to 7 units in this squad, 2 of which with the “flametrooper” specialization.

New weapons

Flammenwerfer 41

Flammenwerfer 41 — a modernized version of the famous German flamethrower. Unlike the Flammenwerfer 35, it has higher gas pressure, which increases the range of the flame jet from 20 to 30 meters, but reduces the firing time. Due to the higher pressure, the damage output of this flamethrower is higher than the previous model as well.

Historical information about the squad

The division was originally supposed to be moved to the Eastern Front, but ended up staying in France because of the threat of Allied invasion.

29TH CAMPAIGN LEVEL

Weapons available at this level can be used by any available assaulter squad. You can change the weapon in the Soldiers menu by clicking on the appropriate squad, its individual soldier, and then on the primary weapon slots.

USA | M1A1 Thompson

M1A1 Thompson — a legendary American submachine gun, favoured for its powerful ammunition, high accuracy and rate of fire and usefulness in short-range trench combat and room-to-room assaults. The M1A1 is a more lightweight and simplified version of the famous “Tommy gun” for army use.

Germany | Beretta M38

Beretta M38 — an Italian submachine gun in service with the German Army. It is a further development of the German Bergmann MP34/I. With high accuracy, high rate of fire, and low recoil, it’s an excellent choice for any assault unit.

PREMIUM SQUADS

In this upcoming major update we will also introduce new premium squads. Soldiers in these squads are of rank IV and come with a 100% experience bonus and campaign progress bonus.

USA | 2ND INFANTRY DIVISION, 9TH INFANTRY REGIMENT

Squad specialization: engineer. This squad requires no leveling and consists of 4 rank IV soldiers with the “Engineer” specialization.

New weapon

Johnson M1941

Johnson M1941 — a low recoil semi-automatic rifle used primarily by US paratroopers. The 7.62x63mm caliber, 10-round magazine and high fire rate makes it a very formidable weapon.

  • 40% more resources available for buildings
  • 12% faster firearm reload

  • 100% more health regeneration out of combat

Overall it looks nice. Especially new flamethrowers with even longer range.

But it’s dissapointing to see Fallschirmjager squad locked with Gewehrs 41 when at the same time all WH soldiers are running around with FG42s.

Nice additions, i’m especialy hlad for Beretta M1938 as i really like this SMG!

When entering content, we rely on time in history. If the technique was used in 1944, it may appear in the campaign.

They weren’t even in Europe until November

It seems our predictions were almost 100% correct:

A instead of F but close.

Ah does this mean we gonna get tiger in Moscow? The tiger was 1942 tank…

And what about IS-3 in Berlin?

Correct, don’t know why the Fallschirmjäger haven’t their Fallschirmjäger weapons. And I want a non-premium Fallschirmjäger squad also, where I can setup my squad on my on.

Hopefully this is coming one day, too.

Where’s my Tiger 1 in Moscow? It’s a 1942 tank, it fits the timeframe.

Mortar squad is also FJ. But they don’t have proper cosmetics (yet?)

I am just curious, why don’t you name campaigns Barbarossa and Western Front or something IDK?

Non of us history buffs would have anything to complain (T28 was not at Moscow, bla bla bla), and it would give you more space to maneuver with minor nations, equipment, prem squads and so on?

Overall this update seems really solid and balanced well!
Premium squads seems balanced and get weapons people asked for.

The new vehicles and guns (especially the tanks in Moscow and Thompson in normandy) will be a good reason for players to keep play the game and are interesting and well balanced (except the T-50) good job!

Wheres the MK(b).42? You had a devblog for it during OAT, Why isnt it ingame now?

I agree with what is being said, this update looks really really cool with a lot of new content.
But the Chaffee ? wtf

It broke down from the Russian frosts.

Panthers were not far from the beaches. Since america gets fantasy tanks in normandy, Germant should get panthers.

Breaking the balance Towards one side isn’t better than breaking the balance towards the other.

If the Germans get something it’s the tiger not the panther.

Получат.
