As you can see, the MG81 completely outperforms the RD44 in firepower while having an even faster reload. However, I’ve noticed the RD44’s ammo belt features a small tool that allows reloading without opening the receiver cover.

Dude, 0.5 seconds is basically nothing for a belt fed machine gun. Besides, the MG 81 is about as effective as a TOZ-B, as you can’t really aim with it, lowering its effective range. And it shoots so fast that you can empty a double barrel shotgun in the same time as the MG 81.

The RD-44 is already the strongest BR V LMG (arguably), it doesn’t need any more buffs. What does need buffing is the reload speed of two-stripper clip rifles, as they take forever (namely, the Gewehr 41, which takes half the match to reload, beaten only by the Lebel.)

What are you smoking mate. RD-44 is the most overpowered TT MG in a game i have grinded few thousands MG kills in span of few weeks. It has perfect accuracy while all German lmgs struggles hard. It doesn’t need faster reload it’s the only cons it has from being the best gun in a game at BR5.

You guys think too deeply about this stuff… It’s half a second difference, can barely even notice it :sob:

What stops you from using reload perk?

On god

With the fast reload skill equipped, there’s nearly a 1 second difference in reload time between these two weapons.

It’s ONE second it doesn’t even make a difference…

You know what? The MG81 isn’t as bad as you think—I’ve even wiped out over 10 enemies in under 5 seconds with it, something the RD44 could never pull off.

The RD44 is just an oversized assault rifle – its killing potential can’t compete with the Fedorov’s, only serving as supplemental firepower.

1 second gap can sometimes feel like the difference between a Thompson and an M39 – even though reload speed isn’t the main factor here.

Just pull out a pistol, switch soldiers, or get to cover while you reload. Always works for me👍

.9 second difference is not noticable

With both reload perks active, the M39 achieves an astonishing 1.76 second reload speed - no pistol can outpace it, while the Thompson requires 2.5 seconds to reload.

That’s because it has a drum. And that is why drums were phased out during the war.

In reality, it’s purely a game balance issue – the VMP1926 also uses a drum magazine but reloads in just 2.3 seconds.Meanwhile, the Thompson 1921AC with a drum magazine reloads in just 2.6 seconds and that’s not even including the two reload perks.

A 1 second diff is not an “issue”. Also, nations shouldn’t be 1:1 balanced. They shoud have their own ups and downs so they are unique.

I believe the 1921AC is the true counter to the 39m, not the 1928A1.

._.

Just take the MG42 100 is overall better than MG81 ._. it keeps having insane roof 100 bullets and most important of all is way more easier to control

Not needed, it already got a huge buff with its dispersion penalty while moving and firing being removed, the RD is in a great spot atm
