Recent semi-auto fire rate nerf and possible solution to it

I suggest giving rank IV or V soldiers new perk to increase fire rate with semi-auto rifles by 10% and bolt action rifles for 5%. Another idea - give semi autos one more upgrade level which increases fire rate by 10%. The problem is that past fire-rate was too unrealistic and some fast mouse clickers really abused it but current one is too slow in some situations, most felt with low power rifles like Armaguerra and M1 carbine so players need to have option to have middle-road.

Up the standard semi autos to around 300 or so and the odd ball ones like the M1 Carbine to 350-400 and I think it would feel more natural. I still think it was an odd nerf that shouldnt of happened to begin with but a slight buff would make things feel better while still limiting this spam fire I keep hearing about. I just dont see many people getting this perk over vertical recoil

Have you noticed the only ppl who complained about semis “spam fire” and are fine with that unrealistic nerf are those who spam assaulters and lmg squads to begin with? :laughing:

Either way, I gave up devs listening. That sort of thing should have been subject to a voting poll, as all nerf should, really. Else there’s always too many people who will obviously get displeased.

Yeah lol I honestly never saw spam fire as a problem when there are 3 squads of assaulters or FG42s around. That seems like FAR more “spam fire” to me, not some guy with an 8 round Garand. Fire what 6 rounds and hit one guy? Idk…never saw the issue

Those guys like to stomp ppl. It’s unacceptable for them that low and mid lvl players could efficiently counter their late unlocks.

I mean having semi autos sort or bridged the gap before people got the 3 assault squads or 2 MG squads. Seems like there were far more issues to me

hey i’m fine with the change and i don’t spam lmg and assaulter, and if we want to put the cards on the table the battlerifles with the fire selector have too much dispersion of the shots, they are fantastic in the cqc but from the distance the famous fg42(I) only eats shots and does not combine anything, the semi-automatic without fire selector instead are incredibly precise, I kill more with the kar98k / g43 from distance than with the fg42

… it’s not a counter argument? Long distance capability of semis are unchanged, before you had to time your shots, now an unrealistic rof cap crutch do it for people.

I’m only talking about cqb, wich like you said, is dominated by late unlocks auto rifles. So a new player, or mid lvl one is at a disadvantage. For long range weaponry I’ll always prefer bolt action to the semis, I learnt in Moscow after all.

If the logic of the semi-auto nerf is that soldiers under pressure and in combat can’t fire as fast, then I see no reason not to include a perk that increases the ROF of semi’s. Put it at 12 like the Bolt-Action perk.

Indeed. The nerf didn’t made sense, so foxy spewed some gibberish about realism as an explanation… wich also doesn’t make sense.

Closest thing to real combat or military drills are games of airsoft and paintball, I can guarantee you that during my teen days, we were stressed playing that and when met another guy face to face it was very common to unload as many pellets as possible (all around). If anything, ww2 soldiers were mostly conscripted and undertrained…

If they wanted a nerf, then they should make semi autos cqc hip fire all over the place with accuracy going down the drain.

you have to see it another way, after the LMG change the developers are making sure to slow down the fights so they don’t end up in CQC every time, we should be glad they are working to clear the COD tracks from the game don’t complain, you’ll see that over time the other weapons will also undergo modifications (keofox announce this when they modified the LMGs after all)

If, that’s their true intentions, then I’d be ok with it. But right now it’s not what they do. They nerfed the one class of weapon that allowed lower lvl players to compete.

So, if what you say were any true, they should have nerfed full auto weaponry… not semis, or at least neef full auto first THEN semi. Right now it’s counter productive.

I sure hope so…
I like the game, I want more players to enjoy it. If they keep doing things at random like this it won’t work, just like H&G.

I maintain they should do polls and ask around before throwing random nerfs nobody want. Or at least be smart about it (like starting to nerf top stuff instead of stop gap ones)

You can really notice the nerf in Tunisia against that event allied squad with vitality perk.

Just saying. It’s really noticeable. You get the first shot off and don’t kill them. By the time 2nd shot is ready, he is already spraying you.

You can notice the diff, imagine if they had Maori Faces, you would shit yourself, when they get that close, now, before bringing them down.
1st bullet, NZ dude, nah just a scratch, 2nd bullet, oh that tickled, 3rd, ok iam hit, 4th,i am still not down yet, Axis dude,5th 6th bullet, die MF just die. haha
