Never see it, maybe because it useless against infantry. T-28 much better.
You never played in a battle wit 2 squad of player in both side
Maybe
And the best iteration of the MKb/STG.
Stalingrad.
Bruh
I write what I see while playing.
It has more recoil there.
T-28 just too bulky and hard to drive around places despite 3 MGs unlike T-34 sure the 76mm has much worse visibility with no commander’s cupola but I’m so used to the T-34-85 and the IS-2 that I even prefer the T-34-76 in Moscow and Stalingrad. Its like I would pick a high caliber HE like 85mm over more MGs.
Well, if you like a powerful gun, then you need a pz4, he also has a good fire rate one.
75/76mm doesn’t feel strong enough for me in terms of HE which is why I picked the Tiger over the Panther in Normandy. I was just spoiled by the 85mm there. I do have Pz4 in Tunisia though but I spent most of my time in a tank with T-34-85 and I was enjoying IS-2, Panther and Tiger.
Navigating through rough terrain and tight areas with lots of clutter is difficult for T-28 even with commander’s view. Even Tiger is much easier to navigate with than that.
Well, I meant within the framework of Moscow, the PZ 4 gun has the highest efficiency.
Moscow has been my favorite Campaign for a long time, I never felt like Russia was dominant. Whenever I pick up a PPD my first thought is pffft, how do they lose with this thing, so easy to use. But thats not my experience. Ill quite happily take them on with as little as a kar98. Thing about the PPDs is you always know where it is. The sound is unmistakable. Easy to hunt down or see coming
And as for tanks, sure if you look at it tank on tank the t50/t34 can be hard to deal with for German tanks. But this never bothered me because I only use Tanks as infantry support to clear out mass infantry quickly (something the Panzer IVS are far superior at). Also capable of bushwacking these tanks with good awareness. If a t50 or t34 are presenting an obstacle at all, well Planes are a guaranteed removal 1 minute later. Or if you know how to use the HEAT at rifle its bloody effective
I dont think the soviets have better stuff, just a few items that are easier to use well. Id take a Kiraly over a PPD any day. same goes for Panzer IV (in the role I see its value, infantry support)
? What now?
Not all players have premium, and are forced to pick planes or tanks before the game.
I started playing axis moscow recently (maxed the campaign with the soviets) and I’m really enjoying it.
When I see a blue cap entering my trench or a t-50 rolling towards me, i feel alarmed. It’s great when you feel a bit of dread and like you might need to adjust. But i like the asymmetrical balance and find the demand for perfect counters to be a bit lame.
Maybe we can discuss the tactics a little. The soviet tactic basically can be summed up as “get assault squad within 30m of objective and brrrrt” and from that my approach has been to whenever possible, deny that and kill from distance. Focus on blue hats whenever they pop up.
-
Planes are super important and where gemans have a clear edge. 250kg & 500kg bombs are just brutal and easy counter for any t-50. Especially on defense you can just suicide-bomb the approaches like a total dick.
-
I assume that in close quarters i will have a disadvantage, so objective attacks require a bit of effort: aggressive nading before entering contested caps. Works. Also i don’t cry about “ppsh-op” as i try to avoid staring down one at 10m, if you regularly have the experience, maybe the ppsh is not the problem?
-
Therefore positioning is important: if you need to have a reach advantage, you also need to think more where you put your squad. Whenever possible, choose a position where the soviets need to cross open ground. German smgs are also much better on medium range.
-
Artillery and wire to slow down counterattacks and enhance position advantages. I might even start rocking 2 radio squads in my lineup to be really able to consistently fuck up soviet attacks and reinforcements when needed. But it’s doubly as important to have engineers around who can throw together some wire blockers on the approaches to cap to slow the enemy down, preferably in open ground so you can fuck him up.
For more universal squad i think in the future i will build a BA-heavy flamesquad with rifle grenades. Bolt actions for reach, rifle grenades for medium distance & to quickly clean building entries / rooms at safe distance and flamers for cqc.
Axis moscow, if in doubt and wanna support your team: planes 100/100. Assuming a person knows how to use them.
this no need to say more.
This is so tiresome. I’ll try once again.
The issue is still that the average 60IQ guy who plays this game comes to this imaginary hill.
For the allies it’s a nice slope every time, for the axis it’s a climb.
Allies do not need to counter anything. It’s a free slide. Pjotr doesn’t need to take planes and tanks, HEAT, or think about any of that.
The axis player realizes that he doesn’t need to climb the hill. Why bother? There’s nothing on top of the hill, there’s no slide, just another climb.
For the allies it’s just yet another slide.
Get it? There’s no proper counter for T-50, there’s no real answer to counter it in Quarry. It’s a free real estate.
Why play axis tanks in the first place if they are consistently obsolete? Why take the climb, when boys are having a fun slide?
That’s why there are so few players in the Axis Moscow slope. Because it’s a slope. Sometimes it’s a tiny slope, sometimes it’s a ravine, but it’s always an uphill fight.
Rockets and IL super sponge?
Yeah why do we even go to cps in first place?
Dunno how you will capture a object with that.
Luckily Soviets dont have artillery.
Luckily Soviets dont have BAs and flamethrowers and rifle grenades.
Lets sum up.
To kill Soviet tanks, dont use tanks but use suicide bombing. Something the soviets dont need to do.
To counter PPSh, dont go to cps and and spam artillery and grenades (last one will be probbaly hard as you will get in the range of it but lol I guess). Something which the Soviets dont need to do.
To counter PPSh, dig yourself in 100m away from the cps and… snipe. Something the Soviets dont need to do.
To counter the PPSh, use flamethrower and rifles and rifle grenades. Something the Soviets dont need to do.
So… whats the point of playing the Germans again? Ah. Using the same counters they can use in other (and more funnier) campaigns as well and is the most basic shit in this game.
Is this the so-called asymmetrical balance Ive heard from?
