I have long been interested in prototypes of some objects on maps. I am sure of one thing for sure - in the village near Lake Bely, the most real Pokrov on the Nerl (Church of the Intercession on the Nerl) are seen:
The same church across the river.
As for the walls of the monastery-in terms of their volume, they are closest to the ancient fortress of the Smolensk Kremlin, which has not been completely preserved. There was a danger direction and the walls were not built for beauty:
However there is something in common with the Solovetsky Monastery and the New Jerusalem… On the first photo, Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery. Also in the Moscow region.
The most difficult - the village of Pokrovskoye-looks like somewhere on Torzhok, somewhere on the pre-war Vyazma, and even on Tula.
It doesn’t seem to change nowadays. Government try to hold some historical parts of towns after they realise it have a tourist potential.
At least those parts which survive the war in 1941-1945 and bad times in 90s.
Meanwhile this type of buildings and a streets can’t be seen in a small village like Pokrovskoe. It more common for a towns with 25-30 k population.
I went on a cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg & most of hte places we stopped at had not been occupied in WW2 - the houses looked EXACTLY like the ones here - from the outside at least - albeit with double glazed windows! The 2-storied buildings too.
The style of architecture remains similar in post war and occupied cities I went to too like Kiev and Chernihiv.
