Tunisia Moroccan premium squad is great. Its like, half the reason I bother playing allies in that campaign at all. Love that carbine and the excellent striped uniforms.
Radio call or backpack + rifle grenades.
Yeah Iām a special kind of crazy along with @46834552 for using the Label Squads amidst the rain of SMG rounds in Berlin, but they have their place. I tend to set myself up on some good firing lanes on all maps, and can usually make their value back in kills once I deploy them.
They are at a great advantage and disadvantage in the Map. On one hand, the Rifle is very accurate, and powerful with a fixed bayonet. On the other, the donāt reload from stripper clips. So once you are out, swap to another dude if the fight is still on.
I never leave home without them though. They are a core of my Berlin Defense team.
Tunisia? I have both as well there. Absolutely deadly, fast firing, awesome sounding Bolt Actions.
And, on a map where BAās reign supreme IMO. Best investment of money in the game yet getting them.
I held a bunker on Fortress for 77 kills with that squad before they finally got put down.
Worth their weight in gold, personally.
Itās why I want them, they really stand out!
But by principle I cannot pay to be weakerā¦
They can get medpack usage speed while downed to 1 second, and the best guns theyāre up against are geweher 41s, honestly theyāre pretty strong in their own way. The berthier is also a very nice BA.
And come on, there is nothing quite like getting a dozen kills with nothing but a knife and an old as heck carbine, while wearing a turban and pin stripes. You pay for the glory of that experience. (As far as I can tell their knives get at most a bit extra reach compared to the standard model, but hey, they are very rad looking.)
Weaker?!
The Tunisian BAās are absolutely amazing guns. Fast firing, Accurate, Hard hitting. They are death incarnate in the Sands.
I usually keep them in reserve until I need something , somewhere, Really Really Dead.
Literal best squad for me in Tunisia, bar none.
I think the Charlton squad is better, but thatās more because the Charlton squad is nuts than anything to do with the Moroccans.
I think it is too much effort for many people.
What they want is a no-effort solution: āSee this tank, click on it: boom - this is balanceā.
Lv1 player with T-50 does not scare me, if they are WT vets and know what they are doing, good on them. The T-28 players is scarier. That thing can wipe your whole team and your tank if unchecked.
I mean I can have a 7 men squad with wonderful lee Enfield or grenade launcher smle + 1 guy using either a BAR or a tommy gun, + 2 choice of engineers, sniper or radioman.
Or I can have a certainly great looking squad of 9 guys using bolt action. No variationā¦
I want it sure, but itās weaker in what it can offer compared to a regular free squad⦠they need to revise premium squads.
amazing squad and weapon! rare to see ingame. (i saw yours on the train map a few times)
but, it wont 1 shot kill as many other semis fully upgraded
and dont have a engineer on the squadā¦
sad to see such an amazing squad handicaped , maybe both the above is the reason i wont use it as much as i probably would.
.
label is amazing on early levels. i dont use that squad for months now ā¦
If the goal becomes āPremium squads must be at minimum equal in power to the best free content availableā, then we are going to end up in P2W land pretty fast, especially considering that nerfing premium stuff tends to cause trouble.
explain me the connection on the senteces above please.
i m interested in your point of view .
New content generally ends up in a spread around where the devs really intended its power level to be. Youāre never going to 100% hit the mark. If all new premium stuff is designed so that it has to be competitive with the top of the line F2P stuff, not just āeffective enough that you can at least do something with itā, then its going to heavily bias that spread towards the ābetterā side of the spectrum. I mean, think about what it would take to make premium squads that can compete with FG 42 II wielding squads at their own game.
Generally speaking, with games like this, I much prefer the idea that premium content should be novel, not strictly ābetterā or even āgoodā. I love my BA-11, for example. Is it a good vehicle? Not terribly. Is it good enough that it is able to shine on occasion? Yes, which I think is where it should be.
Also going to reiterate that if premium content is released in an overpowered state, it can really put the devs in a bind, because naturally all of the people who bought that stuff, who tend to be the ones driving revenue, hate when it gets nerfed, which makes fixing it after launch a lose lose situation. Either its left op, and F2P players who make up the bulk of the playerbase get frustrated, or its nerfed and the premium crowd gets frustrated.
Its might not always 1 hit kill everyone, but most of the time it does (or maybe I am just aiming really good using it), its also a laser when prone. I tend to be able to control firefights when they are out, and to me that is worth it, but again we all view āvalueā as something different so it might not be right for everyone. With the Large Ammo Pouches, I have 60 rounds / Solider on tap, and I can do some pretty good things with that.
I only bring out my Label squad when I hit a point on a map where the BAās make sense, then they can do what needs to be done.
I agree, it would be nice to add things like AT gunners and Engineers to them, but right now as it stands, they work for me for what I need.
I never feel Handicapped when the Squad is used how it should be (that train station, medium range engagement, was perfect).
@Conscript_Joe You can , absolutely. The gun is very different though from what you nominally use. I speak more for the Italian Squad vs the Moroccan one since I have more experience with them. The Gun cycles so fast , with such nice sights, and using En-Bloc Clips. It totally rules when I have them in play.
Do I need engineers? Not typically at the point when I have them out. Everyone whoās watched me knows I RP first, then bring out squads to handle the situation at hand. Snipers? Not for me, my Wife is the Sniper. Radio? Nope. 3.5min per strike if heās still alive? Not my taste.
Assaulter and AT Gunner would be the only ones I would consider, at least for my playstyle.
Not to say what you do is incorrect, I just find that this squad does something for me more unique than my typical BA squads I run.
YMMV.
You misunderstood;
Iām not asking for squads to be as good as the best free ones, Iām asking for options to customize them.
Taking into example the Berlin Lebel squad: even if I could choose specialist in them such as engineers, radiomen, etc⦠troopers in it would still use a Lebel bolt action, and Iām sure we can agree itās not as good as a fg42II.
The squad however, would now be worth buying, as you would not overly handicap yourself and still be versatile.
What the devs should NOT do⦠or rather STOP doing as they sadly already do, is release squads of 5 lmgs, like in Moscow. That thing is ptw, itās not what we ask for.
In the end we just want our premium squads to use the same mechanics as free ones, so they would never be stronger than free ones, but never extremely weak like a bolt action only no specialist squad.
yes. Also radioman can carry to rifles. i would pick a radioman over an infantry. His arty call can be useful from time to time
I personally donāt think that the lack of an engineer in these squads is a huge deal. Yes, engineers are vital, and not having one is something of a hinderance, but as long as your other squads have them its generally fine to miss out on one. Just means you need to drop a different squad first, build a rally and maybe an ammo box or two, and use the premium squad on the next drop. But sure, I wouldnāt mind the squads being basically just what they are now, but one dude has a hammer.
What I do mind is the lewis gun squad, which has an engineer able to make flak cannons and carrying a lmg for some reason.
Yes, itās what I mean; we donāt want that atrocity. Iād be fine with a squad of even just 3 lewis guns, with the cool uniforms for all soldiers, provided we can play with the composition of the squad to our liking ie adding regular troopers, a radioman, a sniper or what not⦠but never something that a free squad may not achieve.
Would say depending on what type of squad it is. Im usually customizing my squad with what i need out from them incl perks. Ex i have two scout teams; one is for close support and behind enemy lines duty with assault rifles so ive put an engineer to them instead along with an assaulter. But for my sniper team which is support i have then put in long range AT and an radioman instead
So usually if its Support i go for radioman but if its an infantry sq or assaulter type of i would have gone for more durable soldiers per say that have perks for that duty
Exactly what I do @9100478 , so long as team happy to push forward on my rally point, I get in my 109ā¦
