I personally think premium time is one of the best ways of monetization. However there are a few problems with it currently, or to be more precise, when you don’t have it.
The Premium time gives you +1 vehicle and +1 infantry squads and +100% xp. Now the two biggest issues are when you are playing without premium. It feels extremely limiting to have only 4 squads, and the amount of progression you get per game makes the grind (seem like) an impossible task.
Now what I suggest is:
Improve the standard research speed for unlocking campaing levels and reduce it for premium (I suggest 50-50, 50% more for non-prem + 50% for prem
1 universal squad for premium, and 2 squads, 1 vehicle and 1 infantry for non-premium. Or the other way around, which ever is better.
Everything else would be the same, but especially the research speed NEEDS to be made faster to encourage players to continue play more
There is one really easy solution for f2p guys that dosent need changing game at all and good thing it only requires 990 golden coins so its technically free
For me it has proven to be as OP as I imagined.
I get to bring 3 point-contesting squads so I can cap rush at any time, then take sniper/mortar/arty/bomber for fire support and taking out important targets, and bring a fighter plane alongside my tank/attacker to take out enemy air.
There is no downside to it. It wouldn’t be nearly as bad if the pure F2Ps had +1 squad of each by default, but they don’t.
Now this is retarded. “it’s 10 bucks, so it’s free” - there is no way of earning gold without paying dude. While yes, the battle pass makes a profit, it takes an initial money investment on top of the high time investment.
Most players are complete dogshit and I can counter the ones who aren’t with a simple rifle squad. I don’t have an issue with it, but t’d say that you should be able to bring a plane and tank side by side default.
I also support this Unlocking active squad slots through grind
I mean I can too. But it is still less effective than an dedicated squad for assaulting points in terms of staying power. 3+1 squads is simply too restrictive for F2Ps. Unlocking more slots would be nice but it’s another level of stock grind where you have to unlock the capability to compete with others through usage of inferior gear.
Which you bring to either level up, which you would not be able to do if you didn’t buy premium, or to provide an utility role, like bomber for long range anti-tank duties, that you would not otherwise have. Both of those things are P2W.
Just because you do not use them, doesn’t make it not P2W. Take a fighter plane in the second slot and go shoot down every single plane that’s interrupting your gameplay without losing your tank/attacker. Or bring both attacker and tank, so you can provide both vehicle fire support roles. Having either of those options is a direct upgrade to not having them.
Lol, no, if i would have F2P, i would just level them up in normal slots, i use even those premium ones as level ups, as i always want my squad to be upgraded as much as it can be, i dont really play old squads even if they are better.
They can help, i wont argue there, but that still depends on players and team, even if one guy have all the slots in world, he wont win unless there is good teammates and team. Having that option is upgrade, but when you dont know how to utilise them, they are still useless. And even guy with F2P account can kick your but easily.
First i trough it will be OP, but not anymore, as i already been against guys that used A-20, then Jumbo and then fastdie in infantry to do it again, they still lost, mainly because i was destroying those things ad fast as he was spawning them, and that is with F2P account i had in that time.
Which does hurt your winrate. It is an objective fact that increasing the amount of squads you can bring increases your flexibility within a match, resulting in a higher winrate. Whether you use it or not is entirely irrelevant.
But he would lose regardless of what upgrades he had in that case. If the battle is balanced, the team with more slots, aka more flexibility, will often end up winning because they can adapt to situations better.
