PPS-43 buff and move to BR3

Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,
The Pps-43 is in a weird spot, its situated after the Pps-42 in the tech tree but its not actually better than Pps-42, yes Pps-43 has faster reload and higher fire rate but it has more recoil than M21/28 Thompson (how on earth did someone think it’s a good idea to give a 7.62 smg more recoil than .45 acp is a mystery) with this massive nerf on it, it’s no wonder most people play Pps-42 or Uragan on BR2 instead.

Another issue with Pps-42 and 43 is that they are almost the same gun thus one will always make the other redundant as long as they are on the same BR.

That is why it’s better to buff the Pps-43 and move it to BR3.
In the Soviet tech tree at the moment, there are 4 SMG on BR2 but only 1 SMG on BR3 so this change will increase diversity of the faction as well.

The buff for Pps-43
Give Pps-43 the same recoil as Pps-42 and decrease the dispersion to better match BR3 SMGs.
Horizontal recoil 29 → 25
Vertical recoil 10 → 7
Recoil control 60% → 70%
Dispersion 84 → 79

This will give a max upgraded Pps-43 an actual recoil of 8 vertical, 2 horizontal recoil and 67 dispersion.

No need to buff, just move it to BR3 and it’s going to be okay. Same goes for uragan

Why would it be ok?

Theyll go from seing 30% play each ( all 3 offer interesting options at Br2) to seeing completely zero play at Br3 because PPsh41 exists

Terrible idea

Pps-43 would have multiple advantages over stick mag ppsh.

  • higher damage
  • lower recoil
  • faster reload
  • lower dispersion (once devs fix the broken dispersion that is)
  • more comfortable fire rate
  • lighter weight

Im ok with rebalancing it and moving it, just responding to earlier coment to move entire soviet br2 smg tree to br 3 for ???

Personally id prefer to simply add ur idea from another thread (while nerfing disperction on ppsh)

I created a similar topic six months ago on the ru forum.

Yes, the PPS-43 is more comparable to the best samples of the 3br, like ZK and Type 100. It isn’t 2br weapon. And how can PPSH-41 have a better dispersion than FG-42-2?

how about HA rate of fire ( closer to 600 rpm )

all three, PPS 42, PPS43 and Uragan should get a rate of fire nerf, PPS43 moves to BR3 but gets better accuracy and more damage to kill with 2 shots like German SMGs (not considering armor ofc).

that means at BR2 you have:

PPS42 600 rpm slow rate of fire accurate SMGs, 6.8dmg two hit down
Uragan ~700 RPM rate of fire, but inaccurate SMG with lower damage

while at BR3 you would get:
PPSH41: massive rate of fire with decent accuracy (fix rifle like dispersion already) but low dmg
PPS43: 700~ RPM slower rate of fire, but more accurate than PPS41 and dealing 6.8 dmg

Thats how to fix soviet SMGs + giving Soviets what they need the most - diversity and multiple guns to choose from.

I would agree, the Uragan should be moved to level three as that is pretty much where it belongs. The PPS-43 should either have it’s ROF dropped to about 650 base and 750 maxed, or just leave it as is and move it and the Uragan both to level three.

I personally prefer the PPS-42 and that is all I use for my level two Soviets.

No thanks, the PPS-43 is already better than the PPS-42. People using the 42 are making a mistake in their loadout, the 43 and Urugan are simply superior weapons.

It’s wild seeing all the people saying the PPS-42 is better than the 43. The 43 outperforms the 42 to such a degree it’s laughable to suggest that it is worse.

Mines are all painted red.

It means they must go fastah.

PPSh-41 box deserves massive nerf it’s too overpowered and dipersion is the first thing to correct

Worse recoil = better gun?

Just having faster rof doesn’t make a gun better in all scenarios. I only use Uragan at close range and running PPS-42 as primary as it’s superior choice at mid range and even at close range not a single German gun can compete outside of MP719/Suomi and highly inaccurate MP18. You very very rarely encounter them i don’t even remember getting killed once by Suomi while spotted only 3 or 4 Premium guerrilla troopers in dozens upon dozens of games.

Uragan is actually more accurate than 43 as it’s recoil is superior and only dispersion is worse so you can spray and be pretty accurate, but still PPS-42 wins in that regard. I have no use for PPS-43 and really hate when they got added to para boxes what a waste of weapon slot just give me Winchester/Fedorov rifle instead.

PPS-43 really should go to BR3 and get buffed, Soviets have zero variety there it’s PPSh-41 box all day long.

So will keep using my “wrong think” loadout and dominate Germans that will struggle to destroy me with their crappy mp40 and not that bad of weapon which is m38/42 (still need recoil/dispersion buff) with my pps-42.

Nope.

But more dmg - yes.

That’s so overpowered that it may as well be a BR3 weapon.

Fun fact, there’s 2 version of pps42 red, with different stats each…

Nah, ur just wrong

Red might go fasta, but it don’t mean itz got more Dakka

Imagine thinking that 12/4 recoil is somehow bad enough to make a gun worse despite a 110 rpm increase. You’re acting like it’s uncontrollable when it barely has any recoil, especially with vertical recoil perks. I laser beam with the 43 at all distances with zero issues.
