25 rounds sounds nice, but not very practical since the standard SF rifle ammo is 60 rounds total, only M2 Carbine is an exception.
A 25 round SF rifle would either have 25/25 ammo or 25/50 ammo. At least one faction would complain because of that.

Yes but what to give 2 factions for this classification of weapon?
Well, G43K does have 30/60.
So there’s nothing like real consistency.
Type hei - 30/30
G43k - 30/60
M2C - 30/90
I bet Japan somewhere has something similar to an AR, just we can’t find it without knowing were search on the net and US has sufficiently Auto carabine for fill the role like Hyde or some m2a2
you remember that 1944 hyde carbine thing? that rifle looking thing?
G43 kurz fires intermediate cartridge and M2 carbine too, they do less damage so they have more ammo because that balances their overall damage/total ammo.
I know, but it’s still inconsistent.
Then they could increase the dmg to compensate for the 25/25 ammo.
There is an artificial difference in dmg between mp38/mp40. So there’s already precedent for the same ammo not necessarily having the same dmg.
FG42 II is also artificially buffed to be better than FG42. It’s just game mechanics, besides SMG balance is drastically different from rifle balancing.
The second FG was better than the first one because German improved the design for be easier and better to use, isn’t smaller just because yes
True, but FG42 II having less dispersion than FG42 is obviously just an incentive to buy the new gun.
True but how you make the gun appetibile to be grinded without some small tweak like this, imo if was almost identical to the first one, no one would have purchased it in first place
Same with Mp38 and Mp40.
I honestly don’t like the SF rifles all becoming the same. Before the Type Hei Auto was added, the M2 carbine had the lowest dmg/recoil but the highest ROF, the AVT had the most dmg but really random recoil and the smallest mag, and the fg-42 kinda fell between them. Now it feels like with the introduction of the Type Hei Auto, the T20, and the FG-42s being changed, 3 of the 4 countries just have the same top rifle.
M3, M3A1 to, I guess the only opposite rule is the ppsh box being better than the drum one
Thats not on purpose or at least I don’t think it is, probably just a bug.
I guess I should be asking when will we be getting such things
yeah basically this.
I would have preffered Axis focusing more on MGs so instead of FG42 auto give a 250rd MG42 for BR5.
That feels historically realistic to me; current change is fine, just more of the same however as u point out.
I believe it was better before all the prototypes hit the tech tree to fill spots nations didnt have.
It was fine before with soviets strength being smgs. Germans assault rifles and americans carbines
Honestly it feels like the game was forced to choose between asymmetrical balancing and giving every country the same thing, and they decided to do 6 of one and a half dozen of the other
Slowly building towards mirror matches. Or as close as possible it seems
