Possible solution for automatic rifles problem (2 different player bases)

Yeap, US and British used separate squads for machine guns, while Germans integrated MG into infantry squad. But the did have a separate squad with MGs too, where those where used with tripods.
Combat Mission has a very accurate setup for typical squads at different time periods and etc. I can check in it if somebody wants to know a particular squad, like Pioneers, Fusiliers and etc.

I don’t know where people get this historical accurate impression from. At no point when downloading or initially testing this game did I think historically accurate. Here I the Googled the overview of the game

ā€œEnlisted is a squad-based massively multiplayer online game first-person shooter game based around major World War II battles, developed by Darkflow Software and published by Gaijin Entertainment.ā€

As you can see it says based on ww2. Battlefield 5 is based on ww2 but we don’t consider that historically accurate either. You can also read the enlisted about section doesn’t mention historical accuracy. It’s a game chill out have fun and stop arguing about historical accuracy and make more positive suggestions for improving the actual gameplay experience for everyone.

Also there from a balance perspective there is nothing wrong with automatic rifles it gives a range of classes the ability compete with mgs and smg squads in CQB and mid range combat.

Without that they wouldn’t stand much of a chance and the meta most people would probably run would be - 2 assault squads 2 mg squads and vehicles.

Leave as is.

Because once upon a time the advertising said it would be ā€œhistorically accurateā€ or words to that effect.

Ok cool. I never saw that and fair play to you for finding it but do you really believe everything you read in an advertisement? Also how often is that different to what you receive in an actual published game most of the time?

Does having AI controlled squad mates sound realistic to you?

What about map markers and capture point circles and the plethora of other in game elements that detract from the giving it a truly realistic feel more similar to Squad or Insurgency?

No friendly fire.

I think what they meant is models of guns troops uniforms, vehicles and maps are based on their historical counterparts and try to be accurate to create the feel of WW2.

The reality of the situation is it’s not a mil sim game and not trying to be one. Accept it and move on.

Just like people who don’t like Jumbo in Normandy or P3B in Moscow, or the effect of bombs or artillery or mortars should just accept it and move on??

You really are a pillock.

So by this logic you will be totally fine if devs add customizable Fortnite characters, paratroopers jumping directly on point, V2 spawnable from kill streak, maybe even mech dogs from Wolfenstein?

There are certain concesions that game needs to make to be approachable and playable. Of course there are cap zone markers and etc. Even in ā€œmil simā€ Squad, you don’t start a game by first passing a 6 month training course or sit for 4 hours in a guard tower on a watch. That comparison is rubbish.

Lone Fighters: now true hardcore! - News - Enlisted

So what I understand they said that they want to make the game for both player bases playable.

Some players prefer large maps, some more dynamic and dense battles, others would like the game to be even more realistic, and some are fine with the existing gameplay conventions we have already.

Maybe they read my topic xD

Some people do that already on Moscow and it’s not a problem. The loose other abilities by doing so. On Normandy, by giving access to auto weapons to everyone you kind of just remove the whole point of different squad specializations.

We will ensure that the experience players can earn in the Squads mode, will match what is earned in the Lone Fighters mode.

Is it just me or they are going to cur Squad experience gain by like 4 times?

Not quite. Like I am using right now Engineer squad, MG squad, MP squad (or trooper), artillery squad and 2 vehicles.
MP squads are sometimes better with their automatic rifles since most of the MPs have nearly 0 recoil in automatic mode. Now its hard to choose between trooper or MP squad, since they changed the matchmaking with the maps xd

I think they will raise the lone wolf experience like 4 times xD But now that I’ve read your message, I notice it too

EDIT: They edit the annoucement now xD
About the poll by Quadro. The poll has now 5000+ votes. However, the results have not changed. You can also read the commentarys of the poll. It seems that players, who want slower gameplay, voted for moscow and the ones who enjoy fast gameplay and quick actions voted for Normandy.
For me its still right now:
Normandy > Moscow > Berlin

Sorry for the late reply, meant to respond but the forum was shitting itself for me yet again

Anyways, yeah Joseph pretty much showed anything that I would’ve shown to back up that historically accurate statement there. I get what you’re saying tho when you said if we actually believe these advertisements vs what the finished product actually is. Especially considering situations like CDPR and Cyberpunk. And I’d say that yes, we should expect exactly what is being advertised to us. Especially if we’re the ones that have been testing the game for quite some time now and are the ones that put more money forward into the game’s development as well. Even more so when the devs state this themsevles.

It’s just not good to completely overlook something like this and to just let them go against their word as it sets a bad precedent for things in the future. Bc in the future who knows what they may go back on. Would they have the balls to go even future and do full on pay to win MTX? Rather than pay for advantage like it currently is or something along those lines. That’s just not a good precedent so I think it’s better to hold them to their word more than anything
