Forwards compability:
Seeing some prewar design in berlin or normandy is not anachronistic. We already have that ( mp28 in moscow, kar 98 in every campaign. …)
I propose squads with low tier/older weapons should be able to play in every map.
But tiger 2 in moscow is just fantasy level
So addin a time filter may solve the authenticity problem a little bit
Low and lowest (1939-41) early war
Mid tier as mid war (1942-43)
High and highest as late war (1944-45)
Lowest and low
Germany:sent to all maps except pacific
Us : send to all maps except eastern front
Ussr: sent to all eastern front maps
Japan: just to pacific
Mid tier mid war:
Germany: send to stalingrad, berlin, tunisia
Us: send to tunisia and normandy
Ussr: send to stalingrad and berlin
Japan: just send to pacific
High and highest tier late war:
Germany: send to normandy and berlin
Ussr: send to berlin
Us: send to normandy
Japan: i dont think they have any type of gear that fits this category.
overall you will be matched with approximately your BR and they will try to match it HA maps. so low BR will be in all maps while highest BR will be more likely in normandy/berlin.
but also it all depends on playerbase.
if you check
you will see that latest analysis that i did showed that we enter with 40% of bots on average in match and we exit match with ~50% of bots. with more data i will further analyze it by campaign and by server (btw need people to DM me if they only played on one server in last 2 days to actually determine which battles are from what server. overall we have 6 servers, 3 crossplay on and 3 crossplay off). when i have server data i can actually do proper playerbase analysis to see how healthy playerbase actually is.
No, having a short barrel panzer 3 in Berlin is not better than having tiger 2 in Moscow.
Both are not used during that Battle. In this case, the year of production just became a useless number.
You can even use prewar design if you are desperate, like germans using outdated ww1 rifles at late stages of war.
Even pz 2 saw limited use at late war
Meanwhile you need a timemachine to use tiger 2 in moscow.
i think it is more of a placebo than actually useful mechanism. for soft mechanism to work it needs certain flow of players per minute to have them active if they want to have human players MM. if they fill it with bots to satisfy those soft rules, than game will turn into PVE.
What player number has something to do with Time- equipment distribution ?
If player numbers are so low
It will not change anything, time filter or not.
Team with mix of mid tier and hig tier weapons= send them to late war map
Team with low tier weapons= send them to any.
Even if they dont put any time filter, if player count is low then unbalance will still be a rule of the day.
This is just simply distribution of maps not strictly seperating players.
As i understood mixed tier team will be no longer a case
this is general diagram of MM queue. idk how many BR subqueues there will be (i worked with 10). also you can remove 5 or 6 for pacific cause low BR equipment (maybe add few later if they add better equipment)
there are 3 general queues per server for a match that always need to be filled every minute and half (3x20 players per server, 180 players for 3 server, 360 players if we include crossplay off). that is only for matches where you can get pz2 vs IS2 in a match if we want full human MM. now if we include soft BR rules number of players grows exponentially from 3 general queues to ~24. so for one server that would mean 24*20=480 players per server every minute and half, or 1440 players for all 3 servers (2880 if we include crossplay off).
for soft HA you would need to multiply number of players further by 3-6 times depending on complexity of HA you want. and current peak (human) player count is ~12000 per hour. and i didnt even include standard distribution where some queues will be more populated than others and that would require playerbase requirements to grow far further.
so yes player number has something to do with equipment distribution if you want human matches. if you want pure bot matches you can have BR and HA distribution however you want it.
and if you mean maps devs have already said that someone with high level BR equipment will be more likely to end up in late war maps.
this was already discussed so many times why people dont like it. simply cause of HA. there are mp3008 that is low BR, but late war weapon, there is fedorov that is high BR, but prewar weapon that wasnt used after winter war. thompsons are prewar high BR weapons etc.
Let imagine a hypothetical match
All real players
5 has panther
5 has puma
Americans
5 has jumbo
5 has stuart
Restweapons somewhat similar
It looks like balanced on paper but ofc depends on player skills
is this kind of teams possible in new br
where these guys are gonna fight ? Tunisia or normandy ?
I dont mind not seeing thompson and feodorov in early war bcs remember ;
Forward compability.
Seeing feodorov in only late war maps is better than seeing tiger 2 in moscow map
I am not that insane, even hll isnt that strict
it should theoretically be possible if there are not enough players for BR queues to work and unless devs dont put some filters that limit BR range for these kind of matches.
from what devs said this kind of pairing would have more likely chance of ending up in normandy, idk if this is 60% or 99%
point of the story is that they cant cater to everyone. best they can do is try to make balanced matches and if you manage to get HA match it is a bonus. if you see KT in moscow, just imagine it is late war in some village in germany or poland.
btw i am hoping they introduce some soft map veto mechanism so you can ban maps that you dont want to play (you would basically get random least hated map from 20 players). this would fix lots of complaints about HA like KT/mp3008 in moscow.
They still circling that damn deisgn failure of a bridge map at seelow heights quite often.
I dont think they would do.
Bcs some genius(!) in company probably complaining about " we spend money for the maps so you have to play even the most horrible ones"
