You can even use prewar design if you are desperate, like germans using outdated ww1 rifles at late stages of war.
Even pz 2 saw limited use at late war

Lol, it may be true for gun, but for vehicles it is not enough to be justified.
Also, there are US and Ussr that are not desperate in late war.

Meanwhile you need a timemachine to use tiger 2 in moscow.

Both were not used in that Battle. You can do this in theory(panzer3 short barrel in Berlin) doesn’t mean it should be done. You also need a time machine to get some of those early war vehicles which were no longer available in late war.

i think it is more of a placebo than actually useful mechanism.

or it works once out of 10 / 100 times. Either way they said the balance > HA so its definitely not anykind of priority.
