Playerbase profile and how it effects the balance

Depending on what role the tank was designed for i’d say cqc for an infantry tank would be 40-50ish m

Average fighting and firing distance of tanks that are used in ww2 were 1-1,5 km .
Modern day is up to 3 km
You are totally wrong.
Tanks are not catapults
This is another very common misunderstanding about armored vehicles in modern war
Seems like you have watched too much fury like holywood crap
Tanks fights in the game is comically close range.
Even 500 meter in real life is considered “point blank range” among tankers

I’m not sure where you pulled the 1-1,5 km distance in ww2 on avarage but it depends on where the tanks fought:
In Tunisia, the average distance was 900 yards (822.96m) because the desert is very spread out and tanks first saw each other from long distances.
In Italy, the average distance was 350 yards (320.04m) because Italy has the Apennines running the length of Italy, and mountains make for poor tank-to-tank combat.
In the ETO, the average distance was 800 yards (731.52m), but there was varied terrain, like fields and forests.

What part of “primary offensive weapon” and “front line” dont you understand?
Tanks are NOT made for camping far behind the front line to get easy kills.
Without tanks in front, the troops will be butchered, dont you think?

I consider them and myself a privilege. Hence my mutual respect for anyone who does the same.

I think mergenthewise might be referring to the tank-destroyer class of tanks. The ones equipped with more powerful guns, but i’m not sure. I know the elefant or ferdinand would be in trouble if the infantry got close, if it didn’t explode in flames first that is

I disagree. Best use of the tank is to keep safe distance and use HE to shoot all the windows, entrances of bunkers and so on. Places where enemy troops are hiding.

The first tank was build in WW1.
Remember WW1?
Man to man combat at close range at the front?
Very deadly.
So they invented a tank to get in and DRIVE FORWARD TO THE FUCKING FRONT LINE to kill the enemy there.
They did not invent the tank to DRIVE BACKWARDS away from the front to camp like pussies.

Again from wikipedia (dont blame me if you disagree or dont understand, its not my personal opinion):

  • It could survive the machine gun and small-arms fire in “no man’s land”, travel over difficult terrain, crush barbed wire, and cross trenches to assault fortified enemy positions with powerful armament.
  • They were used to cut through barbed wire to clear the way for infantry, and were even driven through houses to destroy machine gunner’s emplacements

This is the MAIN reason for its invention.
Of course there were other uses for tanks after that.

I know youtubers like Quadro always say ‘‘build rallies’’ and so on but imo having 2-3 guys in team who build rallies is enough.
Rally points are essential to win the game but that doesn’t mean perfectionists and tacticians carry the game.

If you want to capture a strategic point fast, you will need arcady bois
If you want to keep enemies from reaching a position, you will need campers
If the enemy is well fortified, you will need a tank

So the best is to have a mixture of different player types instead

I also have to note that those ‘‘perfectionists’’ who build rally points are in many cases those players who build a rally point and then a million sandbags, ammo boxes and barbed wire around it, and then they sit on that rally point all the time and get little to no kills because they want to play HLL but have no money so they install Enlisted and roleplay their dead nazi grandpa fighting allies in 1941. And after these same people figure out that enlisted is an arcade game, they come to forums and brag about Enlisted not being historically accurate or being too fast paste because they are too blind to realise that Enlisted is not a ww2 simulator

Really good players, already know the other really Good players in this game by name. It’s a small %, and what’s make it even more broken, is the fact that said small % over time start to gain friendships and play together.

Most of the playerbase is casual by nature and couldn’t give less of a fk about mechanics, stats on files, cap times, etc etc just to be better.

Just imagine game didn’t use to advertise with it around half an year ago for being realistic/ being in line with historical facts (and don’t even consider that the advertisement still has many hints about that) or “MMO”.

Impossible, I never loose.

Must be edited then, :open_mouth:

did they say anything about simulation?

Just imagine enlisted becoming a game where you have to walk for hours to be blown up by artillery, where your ears blead when you shoot too much, where battles last for hours and most of that time you crawl through mud for half an hour just to get 1 or 2 kills

no thank you, war isn’t fun. I don’t want to play any simulation of that

Fully agreed.

This game is fun. That’s what’s the most important for me. It’s always chaotic and feels like a batle. Not a walking simulator.

Im not even talking about simulation but straight firing machineguns is really too much to ask for?
