Playerbase profile and how it effects the balance

I dont have data or sociological field test whatsoever about it, this is purely based on my personal experience from game, forum and reddit and other streamers.
Most of the playerbase is f2p like other free games.

Regular guys: dont take anything seriously, dont have long playing idea, just playing 1-2 hours after they come to home from school/work and dont build any rallies. Doesnt care tactics, game mechanics etc…
Trolls: i dont think i need to explain them
Campers: they are everywhere…
Vehicle enthusiasts: if they are contributing overall match they are good but they still dont built any rallies
These groups makes %95 of playerbase
Arcady bois: they just want to play with smgs, dont built rallies and get into fight head on without any thinking. Enlisted maybe not a hell let loose but its still requires lot of tips, experience and knowledge to be good at game
Sweatlords and mains: we all know them very well
These groups makes %95 of playerbase. Unfortunanetly.
%5 perfectionists and tacticians:
These guys are the “creme de la creme”.
They are basically carriers of the teams generally.
If ypu have 2-3 of these guys in your team you will probably win.
But problem of them i see at them is majority of them are f2p like other group, altough premium percentage Maybe higher within this group.
They play everything every vehicle, squad and try to be efficient and tactical as possible. Trying to giving sufficient upgrades, weapons, equip training etc… to all their squads and soldiers. Most importantly: they build rallies everytime.
But esp. For F2p player, reaching their " ideal squad" build may take very long time and they tend to focus on on faction one campaign for time, grind etc… reasons. Ang generally dont play too much others until they complete one.
Looks like balance problem is about distribution of this group among factions and campaigns.
Its also about enlisted is quite a new game.
It needs to ripen more to have balanced playerbase like arma 3, war thunder.

It must feel really inviting for new players to be facing off against “end game” gear and tryhards on their first match.

But in reality what do you expect from a game in which you have maybe 5 maps with very small playable area per campaign , phosphor grenade spam, weird rally point mechanics, occasional cheater and grind worse than in war thunder? You unlock the same gear over and over just so you can use it in another campaign.

Not many players find that appealing and you won’t see the newbies improve or play seriously if they’re getting crushed by tryhards , especially when said tryhards are doing the Q and E wiggle while walking to mess up their hitboxes, since it apparently stays a couple inches behind the player model, not on it.

Not just about equipment.
Any basic infantry squad with first bolt action and an engineer can surprise the enemy by flanking. Any first level gear guy can blow up nearly every tank with explosives or tnt if he knows how to use them.
That % 5 just dont have better gear, even if they dont have they know what to do with limited resources.

Camping is art. :art: :paintbrush:

Combine this with the above “Sweatlords and mains” category and you just discovered the recipe of how to actually play this game.

Well, Theres is nothing else to do outiside this, this game dont have so much gameplay outiside

Spawn>press W>kill>die>repeat

Smart players with good equipment will stick with the team or try to prevent such tactics by spreading out to the flanks and placing a rally point , depending on what squad they’re actually using, you’ll have at least 1 competent enough player in most games who will not just run blindly towards the enemy.
Imagine a situation where a tank moves directly behind infantry (a tiger for example) or stays near a rally point providing support, both preventing that point from being destroyed and getting free protection since every 5-10 seconds a squad of friendlies spawn on it. Furthermore the bots shoot through foliage making any attempt of sneaking up on the tank a test of luck, another thing is bots seem to target AT personel as priority followed by engineers, I’m not sure whether that’s just my luck but it sure feels weird when the AT soldiers die all of a sudden when you’re forced to cross an area and the rest of the squad seems fine.

yup.
“Sweatlords and mains” are the ones who do the carry in this game and their also on the same time tactitans, always building rally points etc.
That 5 % OP talks about is always welcome in my team however.

Tanks and armored should not rush in with infantry. Armored vehicles are supposed to be used as long range weapons and infatry supporters not like some kind of carthaginian elephants

That’s not going to work against a team that also knows their tactics. Fortunately 99% of stuff in this game is counterable. It’s gonna be up you to adapt and make a play by bringing X at the right Y time and then, in return, the enemy team will be forced to counter it. Furthermore it doesn’t even end there. Those things should be done in tandem with the momentum. Momentum is just as an important factor as the rest. Lose it and your amazing counter play would have been for nothing.

Tell that to my PZIII N-squad in Tunisia. Always the first and last one on the point

That also exists in this game, it’s called “players sitting on a hill or other object giving them a better view of the target and firing HE at it, while inside an area the enemies cannot reach without dying and need to dedicate 1 player to just killing armor hoping noone is using an AA/AT weapon or a fighter to protect said tank”
It’s the meta way to using tanks apparently

Im not talking about greyzone camping. Im talkin about keep your distance from enemy infantry and tanks about 100-70 meters or depends on map.
I have seen alot of tankist who directly drive their tanks to enemy infantry then got blown up.

Ok, im gonna tell it when i see
with tnt

And i have seen tankers drive very close to the point as well usually tried to shoot anyone who tried getting a TNT on top or below them, but usually they choose the worst area to be in, read “7 enemy squads near them”, but i’ve also seen players do their damnest to support infantry and vice versa by either surrounding the tank with allied infantry OR the tank shoving it’s barrel through a door or other opening and firing HE into hard to clear areas (ex. firing the shell through the church doors to clear out the bell area or back of said church)

Tanks are supposed to ride in front of the troops to wipe out the enemy and clear the way tot the objective.

No, they are effective at long range support or fire support from rares

They are also effective at CQC provided THEY also receive proper support.

What is your definition for cqc distance for tanks ?
20 meter, 30 , 40 ?

“A tank is an armoured fighting vehicle intended as a primary offensive weapon in frontline ground combat”
