I think you could steal the torch from World War 2 online by taking the entire campaign map and cutting it up into sectors and just leaving it as a persistent battlefield that ends once one side takes the majority and holds it for a bit. Like Planetside 2 for example. You already have a unique spin with the squads, great gunplay, and great vehicular combat. I really think you could take it further and try that at some point once we’ve got more people.
I know I and my friends would play the shit out of it.

Planetside 2 progression was horribly grindy, what would you like to bring over from it?
the gun system, and buy side grades. But not upgrade system. Like for the guns. Most of the starter guns are the best in most places but they’re other guns that better in some area but for drawback.
For instance your assaulter squad may start with mp 40’s. but then you could get a mp 38 that has less recoil but a lower rate of fire and its heavier. or the mp 28 where it hits hard but has lower mag size and a bit more recoil
So long as it isn’t a spastic grind like PS2 that’d be a nice change. So long as it’s getting the gun and you can just use as many as you want for your guys and not individual guns like it is now with the loot crates. Hell it could be individual guns so long as it’s not the 1k CERT grind all over again.
I don’t want instant unlocks, but Planetside was some shit when it came to unlocking stuff.
I would think that you would get a currency (like sl) where you get decent amount per battle to then get a gun for your squad
I think this would be more enjoyable then the single match slaughterfests we have currently. Plus we could use some of the vehicles like he mentioned. Devs already plan to add vehicles, so lets have game maps that can match that.
As a person with 600 hours in Planetside I would love a ww2 themed Planetmans but a little toned down. Maybe just have like 2 hour long battles with the ability to leave the match at anytime and still your rewards but with like a .8 multiplier on your xp (they still gotta give you that premium time)
Maybe have a persistant map but each “Match” you enter is sending you to a different zone, that way people dont complain about “matches being too long”, while also implementing this idea.
That would solve the issue that planetside has called “Zerging” where one faction would put a lot more players on one area than the other. You could make it so once its a 20v20 the match starts and whoever wins that match goes closer to the other teams “headquarters”. then once you get to battle in the “headquarters” most people in the server get forced into the match so its a super big battle at the end

I like it and maybe steal another feature. The faction with a lower population could get a %bonus xp.
Personally I would like weapon upgrade system like in H&G but maybe with less grind.
It has it’s flaws but I think it’s one of the best.
You mean the swapping in and out different parts?
I mean almost everything except for grind and maintenance (because I don’t think enlisted will go that way but anything can happen).
tbh I’d be more than happy to just leave HnG in the dumpster where it belongs
It has its merits with the different mods you can put on guns but I have a feeling it’d just create various metas where you HAVE to have the +X amount of damage mod or your guns aren’t competitive.
I’d just appreciate getting functional weapons that work without an insane amount of grind to upgrade them.
I would love to see that but it would require overhaul of the game. I don’t think it will happen but going from map to map as @wolfy706 suggested would be nice. I guess sth simmilar to operations in BF1 would be realy great!
It’s about ballancing upgrades properly.
I would love to have proper sidegrades but I guess no modifications is better than shit ones.
