Planes need bombsights

i think planes are really fun to play, until you try to hit something at all. most planes did have bombsights so that should be added, because currently it is almost impossible to get a kill in city maps. also the machineguns need more damage against tanks.

Sights? Sure, would be cool.

But impossible? No, a skilled pilot will get the job done. Please consider that close air support is supposed to be difficult in urban settings, that’s realistic and rather the point! Japanese tanks also suffers enough against allied aircraft, no need to make their problems worse.

you make a good point but for me(a bad player) it feels like planes are just of limits, which is why i think this change should be made. it might also come at a cost like switching to less powerfull bombs/guns if you have a bombsight.

Understandable, all I can say is ā€œpractice makes perfectā€. And sometimes, some tanks are just off limits, nestled just between a couple of tall buildings so that you can’t reach it.

Remember, the chief quality of a attack-pilot is patience, don’t throw hailmaries that likely won’t hit, there’s no worse feeling than returning to rearm after a run with no kills to show for it. Wait for vulnerable targets, and don’t rush in without knowing the situation in the air (the enemy might have something against you bombing them, keep those eyes sharp).

You’ll learn, give it time, eventually it’ll click.

True but thats not really an argument against bomb sights.

Real aircraft had bomb sights. Or some did, some didnt and the game should reflect that.

I wasn’t arguing against the bombsights, read what I wrote. I was stating that urban bombing is supposed to be difficult, I can object to the rest of the post when it raises more than one issue. I also don’t support a aircraft MG buff.

thats the only accurate method in this game (that doesnt result in your certain death, at least).

Simmilar to how arty/mortars can’t destroy/penetrate any roofs, planes should have some limitations for some maps, like those with close building, so troops/tanks will have more chances to survive.

Yes, this method always works. I also use method one sometimes, but because I’m covering all the countries, I often forget how far away I should drop the bomb on each plane, so I get miss.

every time i go for divebombing i either get shot down or the enemies magically disappear somehow.

also the bombs are inaccurate enough to miss most tanks. plus the bombs dont even always kill tanks because they drive away. also the argument that urban CAS is hard, that is true but so is the entire pilot training so if this is a mission they are sent on they would be trained. bombsights wil balance it a bit

Well really depends on your plane if you are using Ju-87-R2,D3A1 and other similar planes use method 3 is the most accurate method. Gain altitude go past your target make sharp turn and go straight down then up again.

Problem is that you don’t see your target at all. So unless you have the enemy spotted, you will waste a lot of altitude on looking for him and aiming. At least that’s my experience.

USE the ā€˜ā€˜V’’ while you circle you can target a lot of stuff that you cant even see xD

Yeah but spots last like 15s. And stukas are really slow planes so there is a high chance the marker will be gone when you get above it.
Also the rendering dissstance BS.
Also for some reason devs made it impossible (or at least very not practical) to look through the window in the floor that served exactly this purpose.

Well you can go above the area where you think your target is go UP and change to the guy in the back and try to target your enemy normally that’s how I do it I have problems only finding the infantry I got to look for muzzle flashes.
